My partner and I decided to spend the last night of our 2 weeks vacation at Makati Shangri-la to Sage Grill. From the concierge to the servers, the service was wonderful. If you are looking for a classy, intimate and romantic date with your loved ones, Sage Grill is the perfect place to go. The food was delicious and the price is reasonable. We will definitely dine in here again. Highly recommended!

Came here for Valentine’s Day. They were offering a set menu at over ₱8,500 for two, prepaid to confirm — which is perfectly reasonable for the occasion.

We arrived at 7:30 PM. It took about 20 minutes before prosecco was served, another 10 before bread arrived. The pacing between courses dragged all evening. First course (mud crab salad) landed at 8:10. Second at 8:35. Main course at 9:05. No one proactively refilled water; every request meant another long wait.

Now the food.

The mud crab lacked seasoning — flat overall — though the compote helped bring some life back into it. The seared gandara was nicely cooked, but the bisque alongside it was bland and needed salt.

The tenderloin had a proper sear, but it arrived cold in the center. Not rare — cold. The asparagus and parsnip purée were warm, which tells me the steak likely sat out while garnishes were being finished. I sent it back. The same piece of steak returned, still cool to the touch, just paired with newly cooked sides.

At this price point, especially in a Shangri-La property, that’s simply not acceptable.

Disappointing evening overall. We won’t be back.

It was a quick lunch at Sage Grill. Service was great and I was happy that a new bottle of Lodi Sauvignon Blanc was opened for me when I ordered the housepour by the glass. The lobster sandwich was disappointing but was made up when they served me loads of warmed bread as a starter. Recommended for a nice business lunch.

I was here for an event so my exposure to the menu was really limited. As expected the service was excellent, the food was sufficient and the atmosphere had an elegant ambiance for a bar. The platter was a little on the small portion side and price was okay – it wasn’t overpriced. Overall felt pretty satisfied with the selection of cheeses. Just wished there was more of it. I had to request additional bread for the delicious apricot jam. The mix of the food was great with wine.

Surprised my boyfriend with a dinner here this June and the staff were all very attentive. It was such a good experience and they give complimentary mini cakes as well to celebrate such occasion which is a very sweet gesture that I appreciate ♥️

Food is okay and atmosphere is nice. Quiet and not so full. Unfortunately, service was absolutely terrible. Not sure if they are short staffed. The restaurant was practically empty. We had a big table. Food came very late. Waiter would forget items we asked for. Find another place for better service. This is not a cheap place and with the price the service should be so much more. We will not be booking this place again for our family gatherings. Not recommended.

The best steaks we’ve ever had outside of the US…including Australia and Argentina! Everything we tried was delicious, including the salads, the oysters, the French onion soup, the burger, the sides (onion rings, steak fries, Mac and cheese), and don’t even get me started on the Argentinian rib eye! Sage is a wonderful steakhouse with a fantastic menu, with varied options, and seasonal offerings. Their wine list is extensive and their bar is gorgeous! The service is wonderful, the attention to detail (from the decor to the food presentation) is something to behold. And it is clearly well-managed, as the staff is knowledgeable, well-trained, and just happy.

On our last night in town, Marvin took great care of us. And Ace, one of the managers, who had stopped by our table during each of our many visits, made it a point to say goodbye and wish us well. It just really made us feel like family, and we are really looking forward to booking another trip back to Manila and going back to Sage.

I wish there were more Sage Bespoke Grills at the other Shangri-La properties because dining here is an absolute treat! Also…we were able to order their full menu via room service (which we took advantage of three Times during our four night stay, in addition to eating in the restaurant twice as well!).

The steak isn’t bad at all. Go for the grain fed ones if you want it more tender. The molten lava cake was pretty good, too.

As always Sage did not disappoint….the dry aged steak was superb, and the pappardelle with beef ragout was outstanding. The service is always excellent here, tonight Avegail led the service team and the results were excellent.
