Always up for trying new BBQ places. Service here was awesome. Staff is very friendly, professional and helpful. Restaurant is very clean and bright inside. Lots of choices of food on the menu. Did not have to wait long for food after ordering. Food tasted very good.

Honestly, this place was amazing. It was our first experience and it was great from start to finish. The staff was very friendly and helpful in explaining how the menu works. You choose a protein from a wide selection that literally gives for every palate, pork, beef, chicken, turkey, salmon, and shrimp from what I remember. Then, you add the sides separately. The sides were delicious! They did have meat in the majority of their side options (green beans, collard greens, and cheesy potatoes all have pork in them), (baked beans has beef brisket), but they also have cole slaw, mac and cheese and French fries. They have a wild assortment of house made bbq sauces, I think there were like 10 all together. The manager told us that every single thing is made in house, and it definitely showed. I tried the mac n cheese, green beans, cheesy potatoes, baked beans, half chicken, and let me not forget the incredible cornbread that comes with it. The service was very quick, food fresh, and very clean from dining are to bathroom.

I recently visited Mission BBQ and was blown away by the experience! The atmosphere is incredibly patriotic and welcoming, which sets the perfect tone for enjoying some fantastic barbecue.

The food was absolutely delicious – the meats were tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I tried the pulled pork and the brisket, and both were standout dishes. The sides, especially the mac and cheese and the baked beans, were the perfect complements to the main courses.

The service was top-notch; the staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made sure our glasses were always full and our plates were cleared promptly.

What impressed me most was the sense of community and respect for service members that Mission BBQ embodies. They honor our military, police, and firefighters, which adds a heartfelt touch to the dining experience.

Overall, Mission BBQ is a must-visit for any BBQ enthusiast or anyone looking for a great meal in a warm, appreciative environment. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their amazing offerings!

I’m going to give Mission BBQ 5 stars because they their food seriously and they have excellent customer service. Even without the assortment of table sauces, everything I have ever eaten here has been outstanding.

As to the atmosphere, your tastes may vary. It is very pro government service – that is I suppose their defining feature. For me, I’m just there for the food, so I overlook it. But, every surface of the restaurant is plastered over with military patches or pictures of police officers or firefighter memorabilia; so much so that the whole place seems over stuffed and messy.

This all boils down to: the food is incredible, the service is great, the atmosphere is a bit much. Highly recommended.

It is my second time here. The beef brisket is overcooked, too dry, not juicy at all. Smoke chicken had similar problem, the smoke taste is good but besides that there is no other flavor. The environment and decoration is wonderful, but maybe focus more on the the food taste.

It was game day and the boys and I were ready to be a part of Hokie Nation but before the football game, it was time to feed the creatures. We had a need for round two of BBQ from the previous night, so we were on a Mission. The restaurant is located in a shopping mall with many different types of shops. As you enter you can walk up and place your order or use the bathroom to your immediate right. As we entered the restaurant, an employee was very nice and welcoming. We ordered a brisket sandwich, brisket and green beans, half a bird and ribs. You place your order, take your seat and wait to be called. While we waited, at noon, the placed stopped and the Star Spangled Benner was played to honor our troops and flag. This former Marine loved this love of country. THAT made it 5 stars yet when the food arrived, it closed the deal. The brisket had the right blend of meat and fat to give it flavor. The ribs had and awesome rub that was enhanced by the Kentucky BBQ found on the table. The cornbread was good a bit hard but good. The bird was A+ the smoke and rub made it fall of the bone each bite. This was a great meal before Enter Sandman. When in town get your BBQ and patriotism on..TWO BIG thumbs up.

Definitely not a friendly bunch working here: and my brisket was so dry and old and discolored. Was really hoping this place had decent BBQ but I’ll look elsewhere . And was missing items from order as well

Brisket (moist) and pulled chicken were very good. Sides were fresh cut fries and kicking collards also very good. Service was good. My wife had Brisket sandwich and said it was I know all prices are up… all I can say is $ 40 for 1/2 pound of meat, Brisket sandwich, 4 sides and 2 drinks is at the very top of the range I was willing to pay. No matter how good it is. But the food was excellent.
