The Picnic Basket has become a go-to spot whenever my coworker from out of town visits. The variety of dishes is impressive, and seeing everything made fresh and served hot is always a good sign. The food quality has been consistently great, and the service is excellent, everyone is friendly and welcoming.
The ambiance can feel a bit cramped, and when it’s busy it can be hard to find a seat, but it’s still well worth the visit. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their salads!

My boyfriend and I came Friday during lunch and the food was amazing but expensive..2 sandwiches a cup of soup and a side of fruit with 1 drink was $50. I think we got upped charger because the way you pay for your meal is a mess, people everywhere. Great food though.

We came in for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service at the Picnic Basket! We had their crab salad sandwich, Tuscan turkey toasted sandwich, and a couple sides. The place is an absolute gem! Clean, awesome service, great service and the food was outstanding. I was taken back by the pricing as well. The choice of breads, sliced cold cuts and toppings were fresh, plentiful and delicious. I added bacon on my sandwich and it was crisp, thick and tasty. I got a standard 3 meat sandwich- The Sunken- ham turkey roast beef. Mayo mustard lettuce tomato and added bacon. The chips I got were great as well, I had never seen them- Jalepaneo Dill. This place is 5 star in my book for the pricing, cleanliness and friendly staff.. and also the wide choice of deliciousness!

I was driving thru Libertyville and came across The Picnic Basket Restaurant & Gourmet Food Works Catering. A quick check of the menu items online and was excited that they had a crab salad sandwich. As well as a large selection of other sandwiches.
As I walked into the resturant, there was a nice atmosphere about it. The counter was easy to get to. There was a huge selection of meats, bread, and vegetables to choose from. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
I ordered the crab salad sandwich. And I will tell you all that it did not disappoint me at all! It was delicious. I got it on white bread. I will definitely be going back to this restaurant frequently to try more sandwiches and soups.

Great place for salads and sandwiches. The quality of the food here is worth the price! Everything was fresh and delicious! Roast Beef Sandwich, Ceasar Chicken Wrap and Ceasar Chicken Salad. Broccoli and pasta side salads were very good. We all enjoyed our meals. Highly recommend.

I needed to order food for 25 people for a baby shower very last minute. I spoke to Lindsay and she walked me through a perfect menu. The food pickup was ready on time and ready to go on serving trays. All my guests commented on how delicious everything was! Thank you Picnic Basket and Lindsay!!
