Look, this is a bar and grill, set proper expectations for yourself and you’ll be surprised. They exceed them! Abby is a super pleasure to sit with and socialize as she takes such good care of you! They do their best here! They have great food options, great and hard working staff, keno to play, a bar to sit at and drink or a family welcoming seating area to eat at. It’s a great spot to hang out and honestly the only of its kind in kernersville. So set good expectations for yourself, see why they actually offer and enjoy yourself here.

Popped in today Jacob was an amazing server. I got fish & chips Hubby got a chicken melt sandwich recommendation from Jacob. Hubby loved it everything was great as always including the spicy fried pickles app. Highly recommend for good food & vibes

It was crowded which was understandable. Two tables became available and needed cleaning. We waited at least 15 mins just to get the booth cleaned. One server said 30 minutes when I asked. One server finally came over and cleaned the table. The other server came back and said it would take another 30 mins to order the food. My reply was you could have informed us earlier. Her entire demeanor was unacceptable. Her reply was I told you in the beginning it was 30 mins. We left cause she was RUDE. We will not be back.

Overall experience…mediocre. I have not been to J Butler’s Restaurant in Kernersville NC in a very long time. I remember they always had a good crowd, an upbeat atmosphere, and the food was good (especially the hot dogs). Well, many years later…they seem to be holding on to stay relevant. When my fam and I arrived on a late Saturday afternoon to eat, the restaurant was dead. There was no one to initially greet us and as we waited, we noticed the sanitation grade was a 90. Uh Oh . Well, we had a very friendly waitress and the food was ok…but I was shocked to see how dead the restaurant was and how it seemed to have went down (appearance wise) over the years. Anyway, we ate. We had a couple of drinks. And we left. Will we be back? Probably. But if I could share some words with the management team…renovate, upgrade, and spice up your menu. Keep up the great work with the wait staff…

Our food was delicious! And our server Lexi was very friendly and courteous and made sure she kept up with refills and requests. We had a really fun time talking with Lexi about me not liking onions while my wife does! We always enjoy ourselves at J Butler’s and Lexi’s friendliness made the visit even better. We will go back!

This weekend we were looking for a place to go for dinner, but we wanted something close, we decided to go to this place, the atmosphere was very quiet, the waitress was very exceptional, excellent service, the food was great,and relatively fast, the nachos were very tasty, the hamburger It was also very delicious… Tuna sandwich so good..the only thing that did not convince me was the shrimp because I am lazy to be removing the shells, but we did like it a lot and we are determined to return later.

We stopped in for a quick bite on a Saturday night. We had a long wait time to be seated. We stood by the door waiting for someone for a good minute and no one acknowledged us so we opted to speak to someone at the bar and the bar tender told us to seat ourselves. When we sat down, we were not given water. I asked for water and we only got one glass. I ordered the chicken caesar salad with olives and I had to get extra salad dressing. The grilled chicken barely had any flavor but my bf’s blackened chicken Alfredo was delicious so I wished I would have gotten my chicken blackened too. Our server was nice and suggested some of the fall drinks. The positives was The drinks tasted good and our service was good, so we got what we paid for.

It is so hard to get good food these days especially with Doordash. Something is usually left off or it’s cold or you just know the person that prepared it didn’t give a care. Not with this restaurant! This is the second time I’ve ordered and I am SO IMPRESSED!! You can tell someone there cares. My food tonight was excellent!!!!! I even asked for more ranch and got it with no charge. Try that anywhere else.

Went into this bar with some friends of mine and ordered drinks. Waitress looked at all of our ID’s and said we were all good. She then proceeded to go to the manager and had us all come over to tell us our Id’s were “fake” and would not serve us. 4/5 of us are from Pennsylvania so we are assuming she has never seen a PA ID. Manager did not even give us a reason why and kicked us out. Unfortunate result for a restaurant that looks like it needs some business.
