We had a great meal here! Great vegan options, scratch cooking, gluten free options available. A really charming family run operation, they’ve only been open 6 months. We had their chai, pakoras (they made off menu vegetable pakoras special for us), my husband had their mushroom mattar curry and I had their butter chicken, all fantastic! Check them out if you’re in the area or plan a date night in Van Wert!

Ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and garlic naan for delivery. Arrived pretty quickly, though when I opened the container, I could see why. The sauce had completely separated into an oily goop. I tried a piece of chicken, and it had absolutely no flavor. The naan was like the La Croix: garlic flavor – only vaguely tasted of garlic. Spice level was good, at least.

Really awesome authentic Indian food. Menu is short but whatever you order is going to be tasty. Service is slow a little bit since only few people work there and not a big well designed place. However, if you want good Indian food at a reasonable price in the area then that’s the place.

The service in this place is amazing. Such incredibly kind people. I have some young kids and although most of my kids enjoy Indian, the more typical “American food” was high quality too. They even offered complimentary yogurt and such for kids if too spicy. We are going to try to come here every time we go near Van Wert. It is worth the extra minutes in the car for high quality Indian and hospitality from a hole in the wall place!

Wow!
This restaurant is owned and operated by an Indian Family. Everything is homemade, authentic and absolutely delicious..
I took my extended family for a pre-Christmas treat. We had wide range of appetizers and entrees. Any questions we had about ingredients or flavors were quickly answered and every dish was an absolute hit.
Anyone who is tired of Van Wert’s old Mexican/Chinese/Beer Barrel rut try this amazing restaurant!

Had the butter chicken spicy, it was really good. We also ordered a to-go order for our daughter and while we were waiting the lady brought out a tiny funnel cake dessert with a strawberry and sugar glaze, complimentary, and it was so good. Definitely going back.

Food was amazing , service was fantastic. Owners took there time with us and explaining what things were. We have never had Indian food before so we had no idea what to expect. Most reasonably priced place we have eaten at in a long time. Will absolutely be back!

My spouse & I ate dinner here for the first time tonight. Delicious & plentiful food, OUTSTANDING service by Shefali and great prices. We started with an order of 2 vegetable samosas with both mint chutney & tamarind sauce. Delicious! My spouse ordered the butter chicken (medium spice level) and I ordered the saag paneer (medium spice level) with their corn flour based naan. Both were delicious and are served with their lovely fragrant, basmati rice. We couldn’t pass up two desserts that we wanted to try. The gulab jamon is two bite -sized fried dough balls soaked in a sweet sugar syrup and the ras malai is a cold dessert made with homemade sweet cheese, milk and almonds. They were both amazing! We can’t wait to eat at Lucky’s again and try more of their wonderful food!

Great family restaurant. Exiting to see a family build their Version of the American dream and the food is fantastic!
If you like really spicy, tell them you want it Indian spicy! ❤️
The Cajun fries were a plus.
The garlic Naan was a nice change of flavor between dishes.
Butter chicken has so much flavor and you can tell them you want spicy between 1 and 10. If you don’t want spicy anything tell them you want 3 or less.
If you like level of (fresh jalapeño, Buffalo habanero) them tell them a 5 or 6.

Honestly I didn’t expect much from a small town Indian Restaurant. Boy was I wrong to underestimate. Got the chicken curry with some garlic naan. Flavor bombs and taste explosions followed. Seriously top 3 best experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Can’t recommend enough that you definitely want to eat here, totally a place we all need to support to keep open. Wife and I already plan on going back tomorrow.
