Vibes. Absolute vibes. Moved out here from South Minneapolis and I would compare Garage Bar to Bryant Lake, but- they’re a different creature entirely. Chill place, still fairly easy to get in when they’re busy. Pizza is uniquely their own and perfect. Highly recommend if you’re floating through from the cities. The pizza crust I ‘might’ compare to Black Sheep’s. Even so, they’ve got their own vibe and it warms to the soul of this now former South Minneapolitan. Keep up the good work guys. ❤️

I came here with a friend yesterday and it was an alright experience. The only things that caught my attention positively was the cheeseboard happy hour portion size (huge), the food plating was beautiful and they have an area to bowl which is really cool. The service was alright nothing special, my dirty plates sat at the end of the table for 20-30mins. The place wasn’t super busy so I am surprised the service wasn’t top tier. As I stated before the service wasn’t bad just alright. The BBQ wings were not that good but I was starving so I still ate them. They were cheap since it was happy hour time. I think parts of the wings were over cooked as some wings tasted burnt as you can kinda see in the photo below but they also had fat on them too so they were also chewy.. The BBQ sauce wasn’t good in my opinion. The cheese curds were good and a huge portion also. I enjoyed my time here but overall I would say the experience was just alright. I think I will try to come here one more time.

We have tried going to this place twice now and have been discouraged. It appears to be a family friendly place, but clearly not one that accepts young children. Kids were standing in the corner booth and we were told they need to sit. We tried bowling and got yelled at again for our kid going over line when we were already trying to get them to come back. Came to tell them us our kids needed to sit on the bowling benches. Our kids are little and do have energy, but we were already correcting them and felt it’s was a bit overboard. Ended up just leaving after that.

Food, hot and well prepared. Chicken wings were smoked with the dry rub spice; perfect. Pizza was more than delicious. REAL crust with a great sauce. Pepperoni that was flavorful and mild. Sausage was also very tasty and complementary. Cheese was also REAL and as cheese does, was cheesy-delicious. Cooked in a brick oven with all the yummy puffs on the crust. Honestly, it was great. The bloody Mary was pretty darn good, with olives, meat stick and a pickle spear. I doubt you could fit more yumminess in the glass. Beer back, too, of course.
One of the best meals we have had in a while and prices were very reasonable.
Did I mention they offer bowling, too? Six lanes, only a few people playing so room for your enjoyment, should the opportunity come up.

Garage Bar & Bowl — Laconia, MN | Food Review
We landed at Garage Bar and Bowl and went straight to our gluten-free benchmark order:
Margherita pizza, add extra pepperoni, well done. This is the control group. Every GF pizza gets judged against it.
The pizza:
Good crust—nice crunch on the outside, solid chew through the bite. That part absolutely works. They use a red sauce, which is where opinions split. My wife liked it just fine. For me, it leaned a little heavy on the sauce. Not bad—just saucier than I want for a margherita-style build. Still, overall? Good pizza, and that’s not something I say lightly in the gluten-free world.
The surprise hit:
The chicken Caesar salad. The romaine hearts were roasted or grilled, served warm, and it landed exactly right. That warmth against the Caesar dressing and chicken elevated the whole thing. Unexpected and genuinely good.
Atmosphere & details that matter:
You’ve got the bar, the lanes, and the energy you expect—but here’s the sleeper detail: the bathrooms. Clean, bright, dialed in. That stuff matters, and they nailed it.
Bottom line:
Garage Bar & Bowl delivers a solid gluten-free pizza with a legit crust, a standout warm Caesar, and keeps the place clean where it counts. The red sauce may be a personal preference call, but the execution is there.
Worth the stop.

On Nov 7, Garage Bowl in Waconia is such a fun, welcoming spot for all ages! The atmosphere is laid-back, clean, and super family-friendly, making it the perfect place for a weekend outing or a casual night with friends.

The lanes are well-kept, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the overall vibe feels more like a community hangout than a typical bowling alley. Whether you’re teaching the kids to bowl or just looking to unwind, Garage Bowl strikes the perfect balance of fun and comfort.

Bonus points for great music, good food, and plenty of laughter all around. Definitely a go-to spot in Waconia for family fun!

Our server was awesome! She took time to explain the history of Garage, how the restaurant is farm to table (love this!), everything is made from scratch (double love this!). I am very excited to have finally stopped in and we will def be bringing our kiddos back to bowl

I want to start by saying so many people highly talk about their experiences here which is great, but my experience wasn’t that unfortunately and also deserves to be shared.

I went with my wife and two younger children to meet with extended family. We ordered drinks to start, but my 3 year old son waiting patiently saw the server bring drinks 4 different times to the table (not using a tray) but didn’t get his. We waited 5 minutes patiently and our server was so busy and not even on our side of the busy restaurant. My son kept asking for his chocolate milk so I took him to the bar and showed him sometimes you have to wait patiently. In the 7 minutes we waited and kept making eye contact with bar tender we kept being ignored. I finally called out to the bar tender nicely and asked if she could help get the order our server accidently missed, but she was not pleased she had to talk to someone as she appeared in those 7 minutes to only read off of printed tickets to the bar. Waiting almost another 4 minutes she finally came to us with a half white milk mixed with chocolate.
I went back to our table with my son finally hopping our order was in and wouldn’t be to much longer to receive food. Instead our server finally showed back up to the table for the first time in the now 11 minutes to take our order. At this time we had been at a table in the restraunt for 38 minutes as it took a long time to get the drinks for the table in the first place. We all put in our orders of pizzas and appetizers to only have the server turn right back around after trying to key them into the POS and say they couldn’t do Pizzas anymore as their oven broke. Now this was very unfortunate for the company as pizzas is a heavey part of their menu. Would have been better to let us know sooner and we might have skipped drinks. With constraints on time and limited options for a meal for kids 9 of us choose to leave at this point to get dinner somewhere else to keep moving with our evening plans.

I will be back and hope to have a better experience next time. This was just an unfortunate series of events that lead to an unpleasant experience.

Unfortunately the servers and staff are incredibly rude. Unfortunate because their food is descent and the bowling makes it suitable for a family night. We’ve had numerous occasions now where either the staff were rude to my elderly parents, or took it upon themselves to try and manage my (very well behaved) children. To the point where other guests said something to my husband and I about how well mannered by kids were, meanwhile the staff thought it was appropriate to come try and discipline them for walking past an empty bowling seating areas unreal.overall of staff would do this establishment some good.

Okay, everything went wrong we me and my wife was there. Didnt care. Customer service was awesome. Learned that the pizza ingredients was shipped from Italy, and I can tell. After eating the pizza my body wasn’t rejecting the ingredients making me feel hung over. Going back to try it again, next time will be awesome
