The food was great. The customer service was great. Only issue was the portions on the sides and the chicken breast were extremely small. It appeared they didn’t give the chicken a chance to live just a little bit. Otherwise everything was good.

If you’re not familiar with the area or casually looking from the highway, this place is a sure miss, building looks semi abandoned and seriously dated, a voice at the drive through was a shocker yet pleasant surprise, fish was freshly cooked, flavorful and extra crispy, miniaturize sides. Golden Skillet is an old time hidden gem!! Still not an exciting visit but at least the menu is consistent!!

The food was great. Hadn’t had Golden Skillet since the late 80’s in Puerto Rico with my mom since I was a kid. Glad it is still around and this location has great food and friendly employees. Glad I stopped by today while in a work trip from Fayetteville, NC to Ahoskie, NC.

First visit. Nice clean dining area. The cashier who took my order was nice. The food was so neatly placed in the place. Love that. Everything tasted great. I can only say I didn’t like the sanitation grade, which was a 92,1, but the quality of service made up for that. Keep up the good work.

Very nice! Great customer service. The food was tasty. I would recommend it. The liver was good, but the gizzards too chewy. The chicken and fries were OK. It’s worth a trip to stop in for a bite to eat.

Totally disappointed after driving from Suffolk for the experience. Waited 15-18 minutes was GREASY gizzards with grease sopping in the box. A few of the gizzard tasted weird- discarded. Not seasoned (unseasoned) like they used to be.
Fried chicken breast was cold and dry. Hush puppies were cold and wing tasted as if it was fried in fish grease mistakenly.-discarded

The two front cashiers was horrible, no customer service experience ever!! I asked the cashier how was the Brunswick stew she looked at me and frowned as though it was nasty. The fried chicken taste burnt, they need to change their grease more often. I did enjoy the fried fish and the biscuits, the place look dirty it needs a good cleaning inside and out.

I ordered a 2 piece dinner with potato salad and mac n cheese. The chicken was okay and the potato salad was delicious. The mac was terrible, I threw it away. The tea was okay. Portions are small. Heard this place is a hit or miss.
