This restaurant has been in Shelby at least 50+years. I remember eating here with my great great grandparents years ago and the food was good then and today it was the exact same great food and friendly service, not to mention the locals you meet while waiting on your order.

Used to be one of the best quick and go sandwich shops in Shelby. Now they have this people that don’t want to care they would rather than talk and check their phones. Then when you order the food they don’t put enough anything on it. Ordered chili and slaw with ketchup on the cheeseburger, I get maybe a spoonful of each and no ketchup. The bun is full of grease and the plates are full of grease. The onion rings are greasy Brown like they’ve soaked in Grease. I took a picture where you could actually see the grease drain down the plate. I forgave the first time, but now it’s happened again and I heard other people talking about it. So even though it was a tradition and good food at one time. I’m done.

Good fresh made to order food. A little pricey for a take out place. Hamburger was excellent, and fried chips were great. Fries were subpar. I would probably eat here again, but only if I was in area.

Went back to Taste T as an adult from being brought here as a child by my parents. Daddy called it “The bottom of the hill” because of its previous location and I simply call it Tasty T The cheese burger is unbeatable the onion rings topnotch!!! The only thing I’d change is it isn’t directly in my neighborhood ♥️ Love this place!!!

This place is fantastic. The burgers are cooked up fresh and it is high-quality beef. They put enough lettuce and tomato on the sandwich to actually taste it. The fries were red hot crinkle cuts and really good. The lemonade is better than any restaurant around here. I wish this place was in Kings Mountain. The prices are reasonable. Even if they are a little higher than most restaurants like this, it’s worth it to pay another dollar or two for such a great burger.

Their cheeseburgers used to be the best in town. I ordered one today, October 7, 2025 at 1:40 and they steam the tomato and lettuce. The lettuce were shredded. They usually put whole pieces of lettuce. It looks like eating mush.

Absolutely one of the best hidden gems of Shelby. I worked there years ago & the food still has not changed! I can count on Taste-T to guarantee the same great food, time & time again. Salads, Fries, chicken strips, jumbo bacon cheeseburger basket, hot dog , fish plate, hamburger steak plate…….. No matter what you get, you will love it! ♨️♨️♨️Cooked fresh to order. There is a line sometimes, but be patient. It’s definitely worth the wait! Don’t forget some homemade banana pudding or a fresh made shake for dessert! They have amazing lemonade as well y’all! Definitely do yourself a favor and get over to Taste-T ! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Burgers are definitely the selling point of the restaurant, lemonade and tea was great. Onion rings were amazing! They just fall short on their hush puppies, almost like the oil temp was too high, the outside looked burnt but then the inside was still doughy. The chili cheese fries I will say just kinda felt not worth the price tag almost 5 bucks and you get a little paper boat with fries, a slice of cheese and a scoop of chili on top. But overall if your looking for a pretty decent burger and onion rings then go here. If you were hoping for amazing hush puppies and chili cheese fries then look elsewhere. All in all a great joint to go to, would come again.
