Finally stopped in because it always smells amazing, the best buttery bread smell, even in the afternoon. I got a croissant and apple gateau breton. The croissant is big but also clearly way overdone and tasted very ‘meh’. The gateau breton was good, I wouldn’t dream about it but I’m not mad at. Upon getting home, I see I’ve been overcharged as well. Disappointing, just go to Mia’s across the street instead.
Edit: I’ve been responded to by the business; even if the concept is a “well done” bake (which I did not know), the croissant did not taste good. The flavors were not deep, it just tasted burnt, not even buttery. Still, I thank you for explaining the intention.

I stumbled upon this place while walking down smith st. I tried their croissant with Brie and ham. I enjoyed it so much, I stopped back 2 days later for a danish with blood orange marmalade and a cappuccino
Both times I noticed the savory buttery flavor of the pastry. The blood orange marmalade hit just about every taste bud I have.
I’ve already recommended this place to others and will be going back to try the rest of the menu. If you want to elevate your breakfast, go here

“Bien Cuit” means “well done” and that’s exactly what this bakery is. This humble storefront often has a delicious aroma that draws pedestrians in from the street. Their baked goods are extensive and amazing. There are both savory and sweet options. The breads are small batch and baked daily on premise. The design and branding is tastefully done; much like their food. I ordered a cafe mocha ☕️ paired with a financier wrapped with a chocolate bar filling… as you guessed, I’m a chocolate fan! Much of the real estate is taken up by their baking operations hence the lack of seating nor restroom. There’s a small selection of market items which adds a nice touch. In the late afternoon, I’ve also had their ham sandwich on baguette which is also excellent. Overall, Bien Cuit is a winner, highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good job everyone! Bravo. You’ve had pizza all around New York but you’ve not had pizza on puff pastries before. That’s for sure but this is the place you come to to see that happen. It tastes amazing. Really good.

I love Bien Cuit! I used to live in this neighborhood and got treats from here every so often. I ALWAYS got the almond croissant , which I love. I recently stopped by and decided to venture out into some newness and got the pastry in the photo. It was a tasty mix of sour , sweet and salty. Good , but not something I’ll get to be honest. Definitely a must visit overall though!

When I heard about Bien Cuit I said to myself I have to go. It’s super cute place with tables that you can sit and enjoy your coffee and croissant. The products are delicious, well backed and crispy! I took a traditional croissant with butter and jam and daniish with asparagus and cheese, delicious!!

I smelled something delicious on the street so I had to walk in and try something here. I ordered one croissant but the guy gave me 3 for the price of 1, and they were delicious. Highly recommend.

Bien cuit is one of the best bakeries in NYC, it’s AMAZING. The cinnamon sugar roule and the buck wheat chocolate chip cookies are to die for. The service is always amazing and the workers are always so kind. The atmosphere is so cool, and just everything about this bakery is just great.

Ask when the cakes were baked. They claim everything is baked fresh, yet the sell-by dates vary, which feels misleading. The baked goods themselves are good, but this business practice needs to change.

DO NOT BUY THEIR COFFEE. As delicious as the breads and pastries might be, their iced beverages are such a rip off. Ordered a 20 oz cold brew and it was like 16 oz of ice with 4 oz of coffee! Go to blue bottle or absolute instead for your coffee. Pastries and bread are still good, no doubt. Also definitely a takeaway only place.
