Yo, this pizza is good. Randomly went to Belmar and grabbed a bite. I was honestly surprised how good the pizza was. Service was great. I typically never go down the shore; I found a reason now.

This was my first taste of NY pizza, served at a darling, long-standing, neighborhood joint. Service was fast, pizza was delicious and the place was immaculately clean. I’m sure if I was ever back in Belmar I would certainly choose this place to grab another pizza. Thank you for being the first to serve me on the Jersey Shore and for imparting the family-friendly culture characteristics of this town.

It hasn’t changed, and that’s perfect. There’s not much that needs to be said about this place. Walk in and you’ll know exactly what to expect. Old school atmosphere with good, no-frills pizza. They make their pies in the back and reheat slices using a pizza oven in the front if you aren’t ordering a full pie, just like any pizza place. The slices are quite small, but the crust is unique in a way that makes the pizza lighter than usual. I always know I can take a seat at the counter here when I want a consistently good slice, and I know I’ll continue to do so.

The linguini with white clam sauce was definitely from a jar or can. I’ve tasted Progressive White Clam smSauce enough times to know that this was most likely what I ate from Don’s Pizza King. The chili was good and the antipasto salad was so so. I write this review to warn others that this is not top quality food even though it rates well in reviews. I’ll never eat here again for sure

Been going to Don’s since childhood, when my grandmother would take me up to the counter to enjoy “a slice” (which would turn into two, then three…). It’s the best pizza in the area as far as I’m concerned. The place has a lot of character too. Never change!

Local dive of a pizza place, just don’t get the pizza (its not hand tossed, sauce is just O.K.) If it weren’t for the history, I probably would not make it a regular spot, however, I do. Great service, good hot subs, good calzones, local history makes it a regular place to the loyal customers. Atmosphere is a weird combo of Elvis Presley and skateboarding/surfing that has a big flatscreen television. They should ditch the surf stuff and stick to being a local place that likes Elvis and provides atmosphere that just doesn’t give a damn about youth trends. The king has left the building.

Was in the mood for pizza and my brother always rants and raves about Vesuvio’s on 10th St so me and my son head there after a few hours on the beach.They were closed for good; local guy tells us the owner is selling the place so he recommends Don’s about a block away, says they have good pie. I ordered a pie with meatballs and sausage while my son ordered a sub. They bring my son’s sub out right away and I’m waiting for like 20 minutes, maybe more for the pie. Getting very annoyed to the point I was about to pay for the sub and drinks and tell them to keep the pie. Isn’t it like waitressing 101 that you bring the food out all together ? Having said that, when the pie finally came out it was very good; it reminded me very much of the legendary Stan Chitche’s Cafe in Bound Brook which gets all kinds of accolades from locals and local media. Son, who is a sub sandwich connaisseur said his sub was very good and let me tell you, he is very picky. So I recommend the pizza and sub sandwiches just remind the waitress/waiter to bring everything out together and be prepared to wait 20 minutes or more if you order a pie.
