Absolutely delicious! The dishes are really thought through, you can really taste the craft of the chef! Lovely atmosphere and service as well. Worth booking a table in advance (especially bigger groups).

Birthday dinner that will be well remembered. The food and service was excellent. The fish was super tasty and excellently cooked. The desert was amazing. The staff were very helpful and really friendly. I think when I am in Nelson, I will be back.

I chose Hopgoods for my birthday dinner after a friend’s recommendation and was not disappointed. We had the tasting menu and the food was to die for, especially the tuna tataki – delicious! I have a number of food intolerances and this wasn’t a problem at all. Best gluten free bread I have ever eaten. The staff were lovely and the level of service was spot on. The building itself and atmosphere were lovely too, the rabbit art is a great touch. We will be returning for our anniversary dinner and we both can’t wait.

Great dining experience in Nelson.
We finished our foodie trip to Nelson with an more than worthy dinner experience at Hopgoods.
From the point we stepped in until we left, we only experienced warm hospitality you could only wish for.
Dawa and her team was looking after us so incredibly well, we felt like being at home.
Food was incredible and offered a a great variety – big kudos to the Chef and team.
We will hopefully be back soon.

We dined here to celebrate our friend’s 70th birthday in early February. We each had a 3 course meal and together tried most of the items on the menu. Everything was well presented and delicious. We had a wonderful celebration! One small point about their reservation system. It doesn’t send an email to confirm and as such, it doesn’t offer an easy way to make changes to the booking. I had to change the booking from the 5th to the 4th. I had no way of cancelling the original reservation easily. I added a note about cancelling the reservation for the 5th when I re-booked later for the 4th. I don’t think the message was received. This was a lottle annoying for me.

Carefully thought out, interesting and local menu with an excellent choice of wines. The venison main was a real stand out.

We’ve been to many fine dining restaurants and this is up there with the best. Great produce and flavours presented beautifully with good portions.

The food is high quality and delicious, but the real highlight is the staff. Yoshi (apologies if misspelled) went above and beyond finding us the right table, offering spot on wine suggestion and bringing a genuine spark to the whole experience with her energising, colourful personality. Highly recommended.
