The Sycamore Restaurant has a lot to offer for anyone seeking a classy, vintage speakeasy vibe. From the moment you walk in, the warm lighting, rich wood accents, and mellow background music set the perfect mood. It’s the kind of place that feels both timeless and welcoming — ideal for date nights, group gatherings, or just enjoying a well-crafted cocktail after work.
The menu isn’t overly large, but every item feels thoughtfully chosen and executed with care. Each dish we tried had a great balance of flavor, presentation, and quality — you can tell the chefs prioritize fresh ingredients and creativity over quantity. Whether it’s their perfectly cooked entrees, unique appetizers, or a carefully mixed drink from the bar, everything feels elevated yet approachable.
Even though our party was quite large, the staff handled everything smoothly. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and our meals came out promptly and beautifully plated.
Overall, The Sycamore delivers a memorable dining experience that combines vintage charm, excellent service, and consistently high-quality food. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a sophisticated night out with a relaxed, classic atmosphere.

Beautiful place! Food was delicious! The serving sizes were not super big and don’t come with any sides unless you order them.

Great atmosphere and tasty food. The trout was cooked to perfection and served with an amazing dressing and vegetables. My only concern was that the table for eight was really small for 8 adults to sit around and eat comfortably.

Lovely atmosphere, great service and pretty good food.
My chicken sandwich was huge and cooked very well. Appetizers were good and the fries were perfect. Wife says the ice cream was too boozy though (that’s a her thing though) and we both thought the apples were undercooked. Overall a nice meal.

We were seated quickly on a busy Friday evening. I ordered the Beet Salad and the Tuna Salad Sandwich and we ordered a liter of the delicious red house wine. Our server, Ron was friendly and attentive. The food was all so tasty and fresh! If I could give it more stars I would. So good and a nice gem in the heart of downtown Columbia.

This is a great place for groups and social dining with good service and tasty drinks. I recommend making reservations if you have a group.
My favorite thing about this restaurant is the atmosphere. A long open style room, restored tile floors, light that streams in from the windows, and bench seating.
The food is fresh and tasty.
There is a good list of menu items and drinks to choose from and we had a pleasant dining experience.

Really enjoyed our meal here, it was a pleasant surprise after just walking by and deciding to eat here. Wine list had a wide variety of prices and grapes. The food was delicious. We shared the clams, the cauliflower and beet hummus, and the trout. Everything was beautifully presented and tasty.

If I could rates it 4.5 stars, I would. Ok thought the atmosphere and service were good. It’s a small, cozy restaurant, which I liked. The food was okay, but not outstanding. All in all, though, it’s worth a try.

The first error was that my steak had been cooked incorrectly because I ordered medium and it was rare. My friend’s steak came out worse as their medium-rare steak was well-done. I was willing to overlook this, until I took the first bite. The steak was COLD, which meant it had been sitting around for a while. On a positive note, the Sam’s sliders and parmesan fries appetizer were good, albeit on the saltier side. I expected a lot better from a restaurant that is considered upscale.

I should have listened to the server’s recommendations for food. He advised against the Gnocchi (I’m a veg so the options were limited). It wasn’t very good. Too mushy and chewy, not much flavor. The appetizers and my partners salmon was great.
