I came in with my girlfriend and had an amazing time here and got the $120 omakase. Michael our chef and the other chefs helped hand craft amazing, delicious dishes. They had fresh fish and each dish was crafted with love. The staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely need to try his Chirashi bowl very unique.

Quite a few friends recommended the newly opened Izumi Sushi in Ken Caryl, saying its omasake was quite good, worth a drive from South Denver. Gladly, it’s just a short drive west on C470—less than half an hour without traffic. The restaurant was right next to the highway exit, at the former Okinawa location. The place was very spacious, with marble tables and countertop and faux wood flooring giving it a clean, crisp look. The lighting was excellent—nothing like many other dim and somber spots in town.

Ordered the $80 omasake and the not commonly found dobin mushi (teapot soup). The soup, prepared with fresh fish and a variety of other seafood, was quite distinctive and savory. Pouring the soup from a teapot and drinking from a teacup was quite an unique experience.

Here were the omakase. The first course featured nigiri made with madai, akami and kurodai. The second course included nigiri made with shimaaji , king salmon and chutoro. The third course featured grilled fish and tempura. The fourth course offered nigiri made with kimmedai, kampachi and enkawa. The fifth course featured nigiri made with sweet shrimp, yellowtail belly and otoro . The sixth course was a hand roll, all prepared by the sushi chef right before us. Finally, had red bean and green tea ice cream for dessert.

The varieties of sashimi here were exceptionally fresh, with a sweet and briny flavor. The sushi chef’s technique was meticulous, with adept and precise knife work. The nigiri was perfectly formed—neither too tight nor too loose. The rice had an good texture that complemented each sashimi’s unique characteristics, making for a truly impressive experience. Highly recommended.

I heard they’re also opening another Izumi in Castle Rock early next year. Will definitely try that one too.

A Game-Changer in Denver’s Sushi Scene! We’ve officially found our new favorite sushi spot—and it’s not just good, it’s exceptional. Their newly launched menu blew us away, surpassing even our highest expectations. If you’re wondering what to order, the answer is simple: everything on the “Starts” menu. But if you need a standout recommendation, the Truffle Toro Aburi is pure magic. And the Fatty Salmon? Prepare yourself for an “OMG” moment—no exaggeration. I guarantee you’ll be grinning from the first bite.

What makes this place truly special is its unwavering consistency in both service and flavor. Eaddy, Tina, Jake, and Michael are absolute gems—warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Their energy elevates the entire dining experience.

We’re not sure what inspired the menu revamp, but it’s a bold move that paid off. The quality and creativity now rival—and in many cases, exceed—Denver’s most iconic sushi destinations. Honestly, if they keep this up, we won’t be returning to Sushi Den, Temaki Den, Makizushico, Matsuhisa, or Hana Matsura anytime soon.

Every dish, from appetizers to rolls, nigiri to sashimi, entrees to specials, is mouthwatering and meticulously crafted. The pricing is fair, making it easy to indulge without hesitation. And let’s not overlook the convenience of their spacious free parking lot—yes, free parking in Denver!

We’ve already been back multiple times because we crave it weekly. This place has become a staple in our lives. Thank you for the incredible changes—we were loyal already, but we are your obssessed fans for life.

I had an absolutely fantastic omakase experience at Izumi Sushi in Ken Caryl — one of the best sushi adventures I’ve had in the area. From start to finish, it felt like a thoughtful, elevated culinary journey.

The omakase lineup was wonderfully curated. Highlights included delicate shima aji (striped jack) with a clean, subtly sweet flavor that really showcased the chef’s attention to freshness. The toro cheek was another standout — rich, buttery, and deeply satisfying without being overly heavy. I also loved the dobin mushi (savory steamed broth) — a warm, aromatic start that set the tone perfectly and showed how much care goes into every part of the meal.

Throughout the omakase, each bite felt intentional and beautifully balanced. The fish was pristine and expertly sliced, the rice seasoned just right, and the progression of courses kept things exciting yet harmonious. These aren’t just random sushi pieces thrown together — it’s a curated experience that tells a story through flavor and texture.

While Izumi’s regular menu also offers lots of fun items like signature rolls and classic nigiri (e.g., sashimi options like toro belly, salmon roe, uni, and more), the omakase really lets the chef show off their best work.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed — exactly what you want for an omakase dinner that lets you savor every moment without feeling rushed. Whether you’re a sushi lover or someone curious to try a chef’s tasting, this omakase at Izumi is absolutely worth it.

Highly recommend this place if you want fresh fish, thoughtful preparation, and memorable flavors all in one great meal!

Have been a long time client, but the food was awful in our last to go order. The tuna roll had massive chunks of fish and the rice wouldn’t even wrap around it. Some of the chunks of fish were even folded over on themselves. The rainbow roll just had tuna and salmon on top. The spicy tuna had a definite fishy taste. We have always done our take out from here, but for the very expensive price that was charged and the awful quality, I would recommend you go elsewhere. They have lost my business.
