Staff was wonderful but wish I asked more questions or if they told me more about the options for vegan.
I loved the restaurants and location.
There is a huge selection of different types of delicious food!! I’ve gone before years ago n love it. You would never expect it to be this great with the location n it looks like from the outside like it would be terrible however you can’t judge a book by its cover for sure!!
If you haven’t tried this hidden treasure yet… do it!!
It’s a very small place but excellent!!!
Definitely a hidden gem, I’ve passed by this place for a while and never noticed it.
I’ll start with my dish, which was supposed to be a mofongo. It was definitely not authentic. It was a good mangú (mashed green plantains) at best but none of the fried texture a true mofongo has and although the menu said it’d include chicharrones (fried pork skin) it didn’t. The mangú however did include a ton of steak strips that were pretty good.
My husband had the fajitas. The beans looked blended and dry and the guacamole was brown like if it had been sitting out for a while before serving it. The chicken however did have good flavor.
The tres leches was waaaay too sweet. I never thought I’d say that about tres leches but it was. The layer of merengue was thicker than the cake layer and it was crunchy like it we were chewing sugar.
Service was ok. She was nice when she was there but it seemed she was spread thin and it took a while to get my drink and then the check.
One of the standout dishes is the mofongo relleno, which is a traditional Puerto Rican dish that is stuffed with tender and flavorful meat and topped with a savory sauce. The dish is a perfect example of the restaurant’s fusion of flavors and cultures, and it’s a must-try for anyone who visits Papagallo Restaurant.
Another standout dish is the Portuguese calimari, which is a hearty and flavorful dish that’s loaded with calimary. The calimary is cooked to perfection, with a rich and savory flavor that’s perfect.
What really sets Papagallo Restaurant apart is the attention to detail in every aspect of the dining experience. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful, and they’re happy to make recommendations for dishes or drinks that suit your tastes. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with warm lighting and comfortable seating that makes you want to stay for hours.
Overall, I highly recommend Papagallo Restaurant for anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience. The restaurant’s blend of Salvadorian, Portuguese, Italian, and Puerto Rican cuisine is a must-try, and the mofongo relleno and Portuguese calimari are standout dishes. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I can’t wait to go back and try some of the other dishes on the menu!
I took a couple of bites of the filling and it was not good to me.
I rarely send food back but did this time.
I told the waiter I did not want the meal. He offered for something else and I declined. I didn’t have time on my lunch break.
When the check came he didn’t comp the uneaten meal. Started in with the BS. You ate half of it.. I offered something else..bla bla…in my life any time you send back food you don’t want you take it off the bill. Especially if you send back 80 percent of it.
I walked out once the waiter got belligerent and was escalating the situation. The bill was paid by the friend I was with and I paid him back in the parking lot.
I know nobody in the place will see this review and I really don’t care.
Needless to say I won’t be back.
Be aware if you’re not happy with your dish you will still be paying for it.
