Absolutely FANTASTIC Indian food, probably the best I’ve had in my life. If youre getting Indian food in the Iowa city area, it has to be from here. Highly recommend the pav bhaji, channa masala, and the paratha. The owners are very friendly and kind. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality. They make their own very delicious mango lassi. Dishes are exclusively vegetarian.

Found THE best vegetarian Indian restaurant around Iowa City, every thing on their menu is delicious.
I tried the noodles and manchurian, pav bhaji, chole bhathure. And everything was amazing. Highly recommend this place.

Stopped here on a cross-country road-trip for dinner and it was truly a hidden gem. The food was absolutely phenomenal and the owner was so kind and lovely! We ordered the dal makhani and aloo gobi with samosas and naan and everything was insanely yummy! The location is a little tricky to find as it’s in an industrial complex and the signs were blocked by snow banks – but it was absolutely worth getting a little turned around!!

Of course a five star. They are super accommodating for any kind of dietary restrictions. Super welcoming. Felt like eating at home. The food literally tasted like back home. I had the craving to eat chole bhature from 2 months- did eat at several places but was disappointed. But at the dhaba express- chole bhature were super soft and tasty that whenever I am passing by Iowa- I am not going to pass by without eating the dhaba express’s chole bhature. I just loved their food. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for Punjabi food which is tasting like made at home. Super grateful for the map to suggest me this place.

The location of this eatery is a bit unusual—tucked near some storage and manufacturing units—but don’t let that throw you off! They’ve put up helpful signs when you turn onto the street, so it’s easy to find once you’re close. I live in Coralville, and it took me less than 10 minutes to get there.
The atmosphere is super welcoming, and the moment you walk in, the place smells amazing. There are two benches for seating inside, and it’s nicely decorated with Indian-themed décor that adds to the vibe.
I ordered quite a few items off the menu, and my favorites were the samosa chaat, the sauce of the beyond butter chicken was so good, the aloo paratha and the naan—which was very flavorful. They do have a spice range from 1-10; I went with 6, which was perfect for me. I won’t lie though—it definitely packed some heat!
I highly recommend giving this spot a try for Iowa Indian Cuisine.

Authentic Indian Punjabi food on a very reasonable price. I am food enthusiast and try to eat at Indian restaurants in different cities. This one was at a bit odd location and troublesome to find. But the food make us forget everything. The owners were super nice and friendly. They accommodated every request of dietary restrictions and served most delicious and authentic Punjabi food. Must recommended for local people or for the people traveling nearby.
