Best pizza in town. 10 out of 10 for sure. We got the Palermo and it was awesome. The portions are great for the price too. They offer bottled soda and water to drink and have gelato for dessert. The pizza Cookes and comes out super fast so it’s hot and fresh.

I heard there’s a place in downtown Birmingham owned by the same people and I haven’t been there yet. I heard this is the suburban version.

Considering that I lived in New York and visited Italy several times, I’m a pretty good judge of pizza. And this place pretty much nails it. Counter service is slow, as they seem to be more interested in goofing off than handling customers when they’re ready to order. My wife was about 30 seconds away from walking out. But I get it – I was 13 once too. Once you get past the ordering snafu the food comes out pretty quick and usually with a smile.

And honestly this is some of the best pizza I’ve had since I’ve been here in the deep south. Their pepperoni is on point! Love that they have a fixing station with extra sauce if you want it along with pepper, oregano, salt and pepper. There’s even a hot oil option which I’ve never seen before that is very cool. And you never have to ask for a to-go box (trust me, with pizza this good you definitely want to take it with you) because they’re in the front and back of the restaurant on a do it yourself basis.

Now let’s talk about the atmosphere. It’s kinda like you’re sitting in some garage with a bunch of picnic tables. I mean, it’s clean and all, but dang. For a place with pizza this good I thought that was quite a disappointment. They’ve got Ferrari race nonsense hung all over the place and even a few Vespas in the front of the store, which I’m sure was quite an investment, but they couldn’t be bothered to set up booths or something that would make it feel a little more like a restaurant.

So I guess it’s time for a staff meeting, boys. Let’s tighten up that service, and maybe add a few walls, some sheet rock, and some hanging light fixtures for that true Italian feel. Real Italians don’t eat in garages.

This place is SO good. The ingredients are high quality and fresh! There’s not much sitting room and if you come during the dinner hour on Friday, you’re sharing a table with strangers or standing. We shared and talked with a great couple the whole time. Capella’s is a staple for our Bham visits now!

We always enjoy eating here!
But they changed the Gelato size to two sizes, the new gal had a hard time scooping so she didn’t give a decent portion. 🙁

Capella Pizzeria might just serve one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had, and I don’t say that lightly. The crust was perfectly blistered with just the right chew, the sauce was rich but balanced, and the toppings were incredibly fresh. Every bite had that wood-fired flavor that just hits different.

The vibe inside is cozy and relaxed, and you can tell they care about what they’re putting on the plate. It’s the kind of place where one pizza turns into “let’s order another one just to try it.”

If you’re anywhere near, go. If you’re not, it’s worth the drive.

Napolitano style pizza is not my favorite, but this place may have changed my mind. The vibe in Capella’s is over the top Italian, from the Ferrari posters and flags to the music and wall decor, just the way one would expect- they didn’t disappoint!

Food came out fast and was really good. Crust was slightly charred which gave it a great flavor. I went for a the meat busters and my son got the Margherita. If you prefer more sauce on your pie they have a station with extra sauce and spices you can add.

The seating is basic, wooden tables and benches with plenty of space. We were only in town for a baseball tournament, and glad we stopped in. I highly recommend!

We took a chance driving 20 minutes out of the way based on great reviews on Google and boy was everyone right! If you’re looking for Italian style pizza, look no further. We tried three different pizzas and all of us enjoyed our coal fired pizzas. They play soccer matches on the TVs and have a nice setup to get olive oil, marinara, Parmesan and serving ware. The gelato was also really good. We would definitely come back if we are in town again!

Great place and kind customer friendly service headlines this unique pizza joint. They took over the old Jason’s Deli on Hwy 280 behind Starbucks.
They do not disappoint. I went for a birthday lunch and it was fantastic. Save room for gelato, cannoli, and of course cake. I would highly recommend and plan to return even for take out.

I just wanted to share that I enjoyed a delightful evening with my daughter, savoring an exceptionally large margarita. The pizza we ordered was very tasteful, featuring great dough and a perfectly crispy crust, thanks to their wood-burning oven.
We’re definitely planning to bring the whole family back to enjoy another authentic Italian pizza. It was a nice little find!

Molto delizioso pizza!
We’ve been patrons of Capella since they opened in Trussville but now we moved closer to 280 so we glad Mehmet remembers us today. Mehmet and his brother are genuinely warm people. Ciao! ❤️

P.S.
Don’t forget to try their Gelato and Canolli!
