S tier Vietnamese coffee spot!! Came here before hitting the slopes snowboarding near opening time, and they were already busy! They have a large variety of viet coffees and desserts that are all not too sweet. I DEF need to come back and try everything on their menu omg. I wish they had this in nyc :’)

– Corn pudding (che bap) ($5.49): 11/10, I really liked this!! Creamy and solid corn flavor. But I’ve never had this before so can’t comment on how it compares to other places. Large size!!
– Vietnamese yogurt ($2.49): 7/10, didn’t know what to expect, but very good!! Better than Greek yogurt imo
– Pandan honeycomb cake (banh bo nuong) ($6.99): 9/10, I really liked it!! Not too sweet. Texture was chewy, but it was lowkey not a consistent texture throughout. So many slices – Banh By Lauren in nyc sells one slice for like $10, so like this is like a quarter of the price for the amount
– Salted cream Vietnamese coffee ($7): 11/10, SO creamy, strong, etc. Everything I want in a viet coffee
– Egg cream Vietnamese coffee ($7): 11/10, same option ion as salted cream version, but I lowkey like this one more

Hands down the best Vietnamese coffee we’ve tried in Utah! We ordered the Coconut Ube Coffee and the Salted Cream Coffee. The coffee was strong and smooth, the cream had the perfect amount of sweetness and wasn’t too overpowering. We also tried the honeycomb cake, and we got it warmed up and it was so divine! It was the perfect chewy and bouncy texture, and had a light delicious pandan/coconut flavor. Customer service was great, and it looked very clean and organized inside. We drove all the way from Layton, and I will say that it was 100 percent worth the drive in the cold! Will definitely be back, and absolutely recommend!

Absolutely delicious. I had the Ube latte and was recommended a snack. I got both and they are phenomenal. I highly recommend I can’t wait to go back and try all of the other offerings they have there. And the lady at the front was so sweet she even helped me get the drink less sweet.

Got recommended this place because I’ve been hunting for an authentic Vietnamese coffee spot, and I think Salt City Che is the one!!! I actually don’t like coconut or ube, but for some reason coconut ube viet coffee tastes divine to me, so whenever I see it on the menu I pick it right away. Usually based off this specific drink I determine if a place is solid or not, and omg the coconut ube viet coffee here was sooo delicious. The cream was not too overpowering and was light and creamy. The coffee was strong and when paired together it’s literally the best combo. The shop is quite small, BUT for their size they have such a huge variety of drinks, sweet treats, desserts, snacks, and even meals! The staff were very kind and patient as I stood there and dissected their menu. There’s parking right in front of the plaza. Def will be coming back to this cute spot for my viet coffee needs!!

We’re excited to see a business dedicated to offering authentic Vietnamese desserts and beverages. Salt City Che features a modern, clean interior with bar seating available, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. Che pricing is fair given the sizable portions; however, drink prices are on the higher side. Our favorite menu items are the coconut ube coffee, chè thái (fruit cocktail), and chè đậu trắng (black-eyed pea rice pudding).

The best Vietnamese coffee in the state! I got the salted cream coffee and it’s definitely worth the hype. Asked the employees a few questions and they seem super knowledgeable and very kind. Would come again.

We had a very upsetting experience at this Vietnamese restaurant and will never return.

We came in with our kids and placed a to-go order. While waiting for the food, my child walked around a bit near our table. Like most kids, they made some small noise—nothing destructive, nothing dangerous. Instead of politely asking us to keep them close, an older lady working there yelled at my children.

Right after that, she went to the back, grabbed cleaning spray, and aggressively sprayed and wiped the counter right where my child had just been standing, as if my kid was dirty or disgusting. That alone was shocking and humiliating.

A moment later, my daughter gently touched a small stuffed toy that was sitting out. The same lady immediately rushed over, snatched it out of her hands, and yelled at her again. This was the second time she screamed at my child.

When we paid and walked out, she went even further and said we were not welcome and told us never to come back. As if that wasn’t enough, she screamed at my child for the third time as we were leaving.

I have never experienced such rude, hostile, and disrespectful behavior—especially toward children. If this restaurant does not want families or kids, they should clearly say so. Yelling at children, spraying cleaner to make a point, and telling paying customers they are not welcome is completely unacceptable.

The best Vietnamese coffee in the entire state, with so many fun options! Most of their menu is house-made, which is a huge plus for me as well. Definitely worth a visit!

Absolutely Fantastic Experience at Salt City Che!
I had the pleasure of visiting Salt City Che recently, and I have to say — it completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and well thought-out, with a perfect balance of casual comfort and creative flair.
The food? Absolutely incredible. Every dish was packed with flavor, clearly made with fresh ingredients and real care. You can tell there’s a passion behind everything they serve. Whether you’re a foodie or just looking for something satisfying and delicious, this place delivers.
The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely made the experience even better. It’s rare to find a spot where you feel this well taken care of without any pretension.
Overall, Salt City Che is a hidden gem (or maybe not-so-hidden anymore!). Highly recommend it for anyone looking to try something new and memorable. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I had a very disappointing and concerning experience at this Vietnamese Chè dessert shop in Salt Lake City.

I ordered the 3-color dessert with coconut milk, and it tasted very strange—definitely not fresh. Shortly after eating it, I had to run to the bathroom several times, which made me suspect the coconut milk was spoiled.

Later, I learned that this shop may be selling desserts that were not sold the day before, instead of properly disposing of them at the end of the day as they should. I also noticed other customers mentioning concerns about expired food, especially with to-go items. Please be extremely cautious when buying anything packaged or taken home.

What’s also suspicious is that on Christmas Day, there was suddenly a large number of positive reviews posted within a single day, many of which appear to be from friends or people connected to the business. It feels like these reviews were posted to bury genuine negative feedback from real customers.

There are many great Vietnamese dessert places out there that prioritize freshness and food safety. Unfortunately, this one did not meet basic standards.
