Got a little nervous when Google maps brought me to the back door. Luckily I drove through the 2 buildings and saw the front door.

This place was delicious.
Friendly helpful service.
The food was hot and delicious.
Fried Pickles were awesome.
We had the fish! Served hot and crispy. Home made Tartar sauce was great. Love the coleslaw.
Reasonable price for supper.

Git here early,
They have a country fried steak special on Friday, but we were running late and they were already out of biscuits. I saw them at another table and they looked like yummy deliciousness. I hate I missed them.

We will be be back here again.

Let’s start with the atmosphere: great quaint place, lights are very dim. This is a touch off putting cause it looks like the lights are off from outside. Perhaps some brighter lighting!
I love the fireplace in the corners. So cozy.
The service: we were promptly greeted and sat ourselves. She took our drink order, and we got our food within 10-ish minutes. She did not come back to check on us or refill our drinks and for the first time in my life, I actually finished my drink and wanted more. Their sweet tea is really good! I understand she was busy running to go orders out and seating others (she was the only server there)
The food: I got the coalfield platter, it comes with shrimp, fries, coleslaw, and a generous piece of fish. To my surprise, the shrimp was amazing (a tad too salty) the shrimp is big and cooked well. The fish is great, very soft and yummy (again, a touch too salty)
My husband got a burger and it came with 2 patties. This burger was HUGE, he was impressed.
The pros: good food, friendly staff, a local eatery.
The cons: they don’t have high chairs 🙁

Definitely stop here!
Fresh homemade flavor, not frozen box fried items. Best coleslaw I can remember having!
Will agree with another that the fish batter was a bit too salty for my taste, but I had no issues polishing it off.
Great service and prices today.
Thank you!
This is a hidden gem!

Good prices, quality food,Quick service. the integrity shines through!I hope it stays around for a very long time. I absolutely love going to this little restaurant with my family, and have never had a bad experience even when the place is packed for dinner. They even have a free little library location out front, bring one of your kiddos old books to trade for a new read while waiting on delicious homemade food.

Although we enjoyed most of the food we ordered, the atmosphere, and the servers, there were a few issues. I had to order three times to find something that was not out of stock on the menu, while my husband hit the jackpot first try. I had the fried pork chop with fries and green beans. It was maybe a good thing they were out of my prior choices as this plate was delicious.

I realize that the owner and staff are working diligently to get the diner back up to its former status. While they’re maybe not quite there yet, it is definitely worth a try whether it’s your first time or first time in a long time.

Keep cooking y’all! Don’t give up! We’ll be back!

Stopped in here for late lunch. Had never eaten here before.
Ordered the chicken fingers that comes with fries and coleslaw. Everything tasted delicious. The coleslaw is made in house and its very tasty. The chicken was lightly breaded which is wonderful. The fries had extra good flavor. Will definitely eat here again soon.

“Hands down, the best burger I have ever had…ever.” Quote from my 14 yr old son, but I tried his Mountain Burger and he was absolutely correct — it was PHENOMENAL. Hand-Breaded chicken tenders were A-Mazing too — you could tell they weren’t your average frozen-and-fried you get at most restaurants. We live nearby and will DEFINITELY be back!!!
