Reviews
We ordered the House Special and Garlic Miso soup base. Both are delicious. You share a pot and there are two different kinds of soup in one pot.
For entrees, we had Prime Ribeye and Kobe Beef. Added a side of Kurobuta (pork) and scallops. Meat quality is good and veggies are fresh. Their sesame sauce is excellent, one of the best one in the Bay area.
Each entree comes with a box of veggies and you can choose rice or a few varieties of noodles.
The place is kinda small and dark. The seating area is cramp. Each table is very close to each other and you can easily hear the conversation from the next table.
Service is so-so. Not too many waiters/waitresses working there. You’ll have to wait to get their attention. Once they know you need something, they’re good to bring you whatever you need.
Immediately crowded, good thing we came early! Party of 8! Total came out to be $330 plus tax and tips. It was also mother day weekend, they gave each of the mothers at our table one rose
1st review: Dine in for lunch on Saturday right on opening and there was already crowded!
Each person is required to order one entree. An entree comes with a tray of veggies and a choice of grain (noodle, rice, etc).
Total out the door for two people was $88, tax included.
The staffs need a raise! They were running around nonstop and had so much patience with the crowd. They were amazing and so fast!!!!!!
The place is about 12 tables.
The top tiers Kobe and premium beef was amazing! It was tender and melts in your mouth
I would absolutely come back!
My girlfriend and I love hot pot, so we had to try One Pot Shabu Shabu when we spotted it next to Daiso. It’s a small, intimate spot, with lighting that keeps the focus on what matters—the food!
Broths & Proteins
We ordered:
House Special Broth (Miso/Soymilk) – my pick
Garlic Miso Broth – my girlfriend’s choice
Both were flavorful and well-balanced. For meats, we had Kubota Pork Belly and American Kobe Beef, both top-tier in quality. Even the standard cuts were incredibly tender.
Each meal includes a generous veggie box and a choice of rice or noodles. I chose clear noodles (harusame), while she went with rice.
☯️ The “One Pot” Twist
Instead of individual pots, they serve the broth yin-yang style, letting you share and swap flavors. Plus, there’s a temperature control knob so you’re not stuck with boiling-hot broth the entire time.
Dipping Sauces
They provide sesame sauce and ponzu sauce—mix and match to find your favorite combo. I liked a bit of both!
⭐ Final Thoughts
One Pot Shabu Shabu stands out with high-quality meats, flavorful broths, and thoughtful details. Whether you’re a hot pot pro or a first-timer, this place is a must-try. We’ll definitely be back—maybe for the premium cuts next time!
Still has the yummy broths. I like to garlic miso but others like the tonkotsu. You get a lot of veggies with your meat entree so don’t worry about that. An entire plate per person.
I love the steaks but the scallops are also extremely fresh and good. The fish cakes are okay if you want something a little different. Of course, better to come with a small group and share!
And $10 for beer and/or sake is a good deal to me! Service is fast. But be aware, shabu shabu is a fairly long meal, so plan accordingly.
