Cant wait for March to roll around so the spring league can start up again. Absolutely love it here!
We hosted a military going away there. Even from the first planning conversation with the manager, she was rude. We should’ve stopped there, but we kept going. When we got there the place was EMPTY. Our whole party wasn’t even there, but she came over to the area we rented and handed us the ball and said your time starts now.
For the volleyball courts they were nice but hot. It was a particularly hot day, so someone in the party asked about spraying the sand. We weren’t informed that this was something we did ourselves (not much of volleyball players). When I finally went up to ask she then informed us they were short staffed so “you do it.” That’s fine, it just would’ve been nice to know instead of wasting time.
When we asked about the room, she said we had to either clear out or be forced to pay another $150. There was only one other group there on the other side of the place, so we were confused because people were still buying food and drinks. We weren’t just wasting space, but okay. So we move outside. I went to go clarify this with her, but she was no where to be found. The bartender was busy and they were the only two people working, so after about 5 min of waiting I walked away.
As we leave I talk to the bartender about where to leave the bar and he said to leave it with the manager up front. I tell him she’s not there so he has to go and find her. She comes out and says that since we didn’t return the ball within the 1 hour limit that she’d have to charge us for two hours. I try telling her that I tried multiple times to come talk to her but she was no where to be found but she wasn’t having it. I told her we left the room when she told us to, but she said we didn’t tell her so there was nothing she could do. She said the best she could do was 1.75 hours for the room. I asked if we could do the one hour room and just the 45 min court. She said no, they came together.
I understand if this place had people around waiting. Even if they had a few more groups around. But it was just us in one spot and the other group under the tent.
The food wasn’t great, but the drinks were really good. The bartender helped when he could and we appreciated that. Definitely not going back there any time soon for a group event.
