Tried out a new coffee shop and loved it! We had several different drinks, mine (the chagaccino) was great. I had the green eggs and ham bagel sandwich and my wife had the Colorado love one. Both were great. The kitchen brought out food order out when it was done. We parked just around the corner, so it was close but I could see parking being difficult. The cafe itself was very cute and had quite a few tables to sit at as well as a good outdoor seating area. It is a little tucked away and behind a hedge-like wall, so we walked past it the first time. Don’t give up on finding it, the place is well worth it!

I have been going here for a few years and today I was shocked! Ordered a turkey sandwich on gluten free bread, NO tomatoes.
This itty bitty sandwich came with tomatoes on it for $14 + tax so $17.
Not even big enough to feed a bird! Totally rip off and this will be my last time ever ordering food here.

Bittersweet Cafe has such a wonderful community feel. It’s the kind of place where you can catch up with a friend or just enjoy a quiet moment with a great cup of coffee. I love that it feels like a genuine local business rather than a chain. The service is warm and personal, and the vibe inside is just right. A true Louisville staple.

Bittersweet is a cute, bright little bakery and coffee shop. They have fairly limited seating inside, but a larger patio for when the weather is decent. The pastries are made fresh, in-house every morning, and they are spectacular! The almond croissant is a must-try. The coffee was great, the breakfast burrito was filling, and the staff were friendly. The restrooms (for customers) were clean and convenient. All-in-all, what more could you ask for, especially in a small town? % worth the stop if passing through Louisville.

I know inflation is a thing and just generally, buying food around Boulder isn’t cheap. But I was shocked at what a $20 sandwich got me at Bittersweet. I bought their beet sandwich and added cheese and avocado. When I opened the takeout box, I was just shocked. It was the size of two post-it notes. Tiny! It tasted fine, but for this price, head a couple blocks down the street to Moxie and you’ll get your money’s worth.

This place has the BEST cinnamon rolls I’ve found so far.
What do I mean by that?
LARGE, tiny bit of chewy crust on the outside, plenty of cinnamon on the inside, not under baked, not over baked. Nice big pile of cream cheese frosting on top, and not too sweet overall. Aka the perfect cinnamon roll (in my opinion).
If they change how they make their cinnamon rolls I *will* be devastated.
The coffee is also great, the vibe is cozy (lots of people working on laptops or catching up with friends), the baristas are kind, quick, and to the point. Love this place.

Cute place. Like the decor. Makes me feel like I’m sitting in a well decorated old woman’s house. Good distribution of outlets. The food is standard but good. Received a burrito that was cut most of the way through. I appreciate the effort in cutting it though. I go here whenever I have airport activities later. Would recommend.

TLDR: Take your money elsewhere, extremely rude staff with bad attitudes.

This was the first time I went to bittersweet and unfortunately it will be last time I go there.

I took my wife, son and daughter there to have a nice treat and drinks on my day off. I’ve lived near Louisville for years and didn’t even know bittersweet was there.

So upon discovering there was another coffee shop in town we decided to try it out. When we got there the place seemed nice, clean and inviting. The first thing we saw was a bunch of pastries and cookies.

My 3 year old son of course saw the cookies and he asked if he could have one. I said yes and decided to grab one. This is where the problems began.

The cookies were in cookie jars right in the front with easy access to them. There was no signs saying please ask for assistance or please don’t touch the cookies. So again thinking nothing of it, I grab a cookie and we proceeded to go to the register to pay.

When we got the the register the girl at the front very rudely said “next time don’t reach into the cookie jar and grab them” as she scoffed like we were supposed to know that.

I can’t describe in words how rude she was being and it made us feel very uncomfortable. After she said it, I was a little taken back but I wasn’t confrontational because again I was trying to have a nice day off with my family.

I thought to myself oh maybe they had a sign that says not to grab the cookies, whoops I messed up. So we completely our order with her looking at us with distain. Again super uncomfortable, I wasn’t even sure I wanted to complete our order because who knows if she would do something to our drinks.

I then went over to the cookie jars to see if I missed the sign. I looked all over and I didn’t see anything that said not to touch the cookies.

At the same time my wife and kids were waiting for the drinks to be ready. My wife told me (after we left) that all the staff was talking crap about us for lack of a better word while making our drinks.

Again, super rude and unprofessional. Safe to say I won’t be going back and I recommend anyone looking for coffee, food and drinks to go elsewhere in Louisville.
