A little out of the way but totally worth it! Built our own pizza-to-go w/ pepperoni, fresh mozz and basil. Delicious ingredients with perfectly charred Neopolitan-style crust–perfect! Great, friendly service and we loved the aviation theme. My wife and I look forward to visiting again the next time we are in the area! (we were too early to try Fly Girl Brewing; maybe next time)

This is a cool location near the airport that has an aviation theme, good wings and pizza, plenty of seating indoors and out, live bands on Friday nights, and an adjacent larger bar called Fly Girl “Brewing”.
The food prices are a bit steep, but not unreasonable considering the location and quality. Inside the large bar is a full size plane that you can autograph.

If you ever find yourself biking on the Thermal Belt Rail Trail in Rutherfordton, NC, then you have to visit Flyboy Pizza just off the trail. Some of the best pizza I have had since living in SC. Service wad great, staff was incredibly friendly and the food was really good! Pizza and margaritas are a must try.

Food was decent but the atmosphere was sad. We went on a Saturday during what you would assume would be prime hours and there was maybe 4 other people there. With no greeting or even an instructional sign we were extremely confused when we walked in. We had to seat ourselves (which is no big deal), But then we had go to the bar an ask for menus after sitting there for around 8-10 minutes confused why no one was helping us.You then had to go to the bar to place your order. Just felt unwelcoming and dead. Very sad considering how popular and friendly it was just a few years ago.

Our family has been eating here since their first opening. It is one of the few places I can get a fast, yummy gluten-free meal.
They are under new ownership recently, and things are not quite as good as they were before. The employees and service are still excellent. The food is not like it used to be, though.
Our cheesy bread had pools of butter in the box (which is fine; I like butter!). They need to package it differently, though. It was leaking all over the place. They also forgot to put the marinara sauce with it.
The crust on the gluten-free pizza was burnt. This is the second time in a row that’s happened. It was a to-go order, so it was a letdown to open the box and see it. There was also around a 1/2 inch thick layer of cheese on the pizza. Don’t get me wrong, I love cheese, but it was all I tasted!
Our regular pizza was very delicious. One of our family members who had never had the pizza before really enjoyed it!
I do hope that the quality improves. The restaurant was pretty empty when I picked up the order, so I was surprised to see the mistakes made.
I’m not giving up on them yet. As a general rule, their food and service are very good.

We were in the area celebrating a birthday, and my husband’s uncle (RLG &Sons Rentals) suggested Fly Boy Pizza. Let’s just say we weren’t disappointed. The facility is off hidden in the perfect cozy location in a wooded area. This place has everything from a cozy restaurant that you can dinne inside or outside, an another facility that has like 2 bars, pool tables, seating and lounging area, and a outside area for seating to enjoy a drink or 2. Also, the aviation theme is so creative and awesome.
They are family-friendly, and the people there are extremely friendly and attentive.
But the star of the show was the PIZZA for me, the best pizza hands down, and highly recommended.

Totally worth the drive. One of the best pizzas I’ve eaten this year, and the Greek salad was excellent. Service was great, and the whole vibe of the place enhances the experience. It’s adjacent to a rail trail, so biking out here for lunch or dinner would be awesome.

The waitstaff was very accommodating and friendly. The pizza was delicious. We sat outside and the scenery was beautiful. The only disappointing thing was we ordered wings and were told the manager had changed the prices overnight and the menu was incorrect. The wings were way too expensive for what we received. I feel if there is a price change it should reflect it on the menu.

First time we had been to fly boys! The cheesy bread was so good sorry i did not get pictures before we devoured it. The pizzas were great, really tasty. They put bread and butter pickles on The Bro and even though I’m not much for bread and butter pickles it paired great with this pizza but i would prefer dill. The whistle pig had bbq chicken and i added pineapple instead of onion which was delicious!!! Over all this place was great. The server was super sweet! Highly recommend!

Great place with live music, awesome food and fantastic atmosphere. Whimsical decor with a small cesna right in the middle of the room. Great spacious bar and outside seeting. We love this place and always visit it when we are in town!
