I visited this Panera location on 16 December around 3pm and ordered a hot chocolate. I specifically requested a nicely presented drink because I wanted to take a photo — something very simple and reasonable.
What I received was honestly embarrassing: barely 1cm of whipped cream, poorly presented, and nothing close to what I asked for. When I politely asked the staff why it didn’t match my request, I was told it would “overflow,” so I took a small sip to make space.
That’s when the situation turned extremely uncomfortable.
The staff member suddenly looked at me with disgust, spoke in a nasty, demeaning tone, and said, “Hey, you drank it already, I can’t give you more whipped cream.” The way it was said — combined with the stare — made me feel judged, embarrassed, and humiliated in front of the entire café.
I’ve genuinely never felt so embarrassed in my life at a café. Everyone was looking at me, and I felt like an idiot for even asking — despite being polite the entire time.
To make things worse, I left a big tip. What a complete waste of money.
Bad drink.
Worse customer service.
Zero respect for customers.
I walked out feeling upset, embarrassed, and honestly shocked at how poorly I was treated. This experience was demeaning and unacceptable
To make it worse, the app makes it extremely difficult to submit a complaint, which only adds to the frustration. This was a waste of money and a very disappointing experience. I will not be ordering again.
I’m personally sick of these corporations taking complete advantage of us. I’ll be boycotting Panera and recommend others do the same!!!
Went back to try again to avoid the drive and wasting gas. Got an orange scone that was moist, flavorful and delicious. The kitchen sink cookie was full of chocolate some toffee salted yummyness. The new spinach bacon soufflé was ok but not as good as the old spinach artichoke one. The pecan twist if full of glaze and pecans. The experience was much better this time. They have plenty of indoor seating, parking and a public restroom.
