It’s about thirty minutes northwest of Chicago.
I ordered a combination plate with Pulled Pork and Beef Brisket.
The plate came with cole slaw, beans and a piece of bread.
Really delicious and really moist.
The location is very clean and employees are very friendly.
I love the brisket, its the item I judge BBQ venues by. The brisket i took home was superb even. My initial impression in September was that the owners put huge $$$ into the smokers they have. I used to work BBQ prior using a $30k industrial smoker that had 8 racks, and each rack a was 12 ft long. It was a carousel like smoker. Without seeing the insides of the smoker, from examining the outter smoker parts – I could deduce that the THREE of them cost a pretty good amount… then the smell of the wood hit… and i knew I found a BBQ place that doesn’t cut corners.
Also the place is pretty spotless. I shared pics of the bathroom, that was from September. But the bathrooms were spotless again today.
I love the sauce too…. swine wine is my favorite by far. Any BBQ place can do a food sweet Kansas sauce… vinegar sauces are different IMO. Swine Wine is probably the best vinegar sauce inevwr have tried.
My only complaint is that there is no option for Baby Back ribs.
I would definitely recommend City BBQ to anyone, even a true Texan (i know plenty of them lol) I feel would enjoy the brisket here.
Had a fantastic lunch catching up with friends at the Park Ridge location today, and it’s easily one of the best quick-but-delicious barbecue spots in the suburbs.
I ordered the Smokehouse Classic Salad with smoked chicken, and wow — it was huge, fresh, and honestly one of the most satisfying salads I’ve had in a long time. The chicken was perfectly smoked, juicy, and packed with flavor; it didn’t feel like an afterthought like “salad chicken” usually does. Plenty of crisp greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, and those crunchy onions on top made it a complete meal. I left full and happy, no afternoon slump.
The crew behind the counter was genuinely friendly and patient — they answered questions, offered samples without being pushy, and made the whole experience feel welcoming. The restaurant is spotless, and the location right off Northwest Highway is super convenient with plenty of parking.
If you’re in the Park Ridge area and craving real barbecue (or even just a killer salad), this place is a winner.
We ordered a thanksgiving turkey and all I can say is wow. From ordering (I had some questions and the staff was beyond helpful) to the pick up process and most important the absolute delicious food it could not have gone better. Everyone loves the turkey , it was juicy, crispy skin, even the leg meat was juicy. We will be back for more
