I usually like this place but tonight no so much.
If I’m paying over $20,00 for a cheeseburger fries and a shake then it better be worth it. First off my food was cold. The cheeseburger was okay but would have been better if it were at least warm. Secondly, the fries 1/4th of the portion were burnt and they were cold. This leads me to believe they mixed old fries with older burnt fries. The only item that was pretty good was the peanut butter and chocolate milkshake. It was cold as it was supposed to be but could have been better. It’s very disappointing there isn’t any consistency.over at this establishment.

I haven’t been to a 5 Guys in a long time, and this recent visit confirmed why. I’m not going over the value of the food as they have no control over it. But the burger patties were nearly tasteless, and the ingredients didn’t taste fresh at all. I placed the order online, and after 20 minutes of waiting (the app said ‘In process’ status), I walked up to the counter and the staff were ignoring me. I had to grab their attention a bit. Despite multiple people waiting for food, they weren’t calling out orders, and were just placing the bags on a shelf against the wall, behind the counter. You had to ask them to grab the food. The bags and receipt were very greasy. And 30 minutes since placing order, the food wasn’t marked as even complete yet. The atmosphere came off like the crew didn’t really care, but they weren’t rude by any means. And the value, although not the stores fault, is obviously bad. Very turned off by the mush of a burger, and the not great experience. I wasn’t expecting amazing, but you can get better service very easily anywhere else.

I waited 15 mins for my order which is understandable because they were busy. But then i got my food and the only thing semi warm was my fries. Why wait so long? Just to get cold burger. Highly disappointed.
Sidenote- i also witness the supervisor get frustrated with the rush of orders and gave a walk in customer attitude about there being a 30 min wait. Didnt even take his order when he said it was okay. The customer ended up walking out. Between 630p-645p

Mushy fries too much salt! Burger just ok. Shake which i had to remind that I ordered anyway just like McDonald’s ugh! Skip this location I’ve enjoyed rockford location but not this one sorry…

Burgers and fries were both good. There was nothing really setting the burgers apart from like Steak and Shake or Culvers though. I think it is overpriced for what you get. Also, maybe it’s just me but I think toasting the hamburger buns would make them better, they just seemed like an off brand bun you’d get at Walmart. Employees behind the counter were very friendly. I gave it a 4 for the fries and good employees.

Despite the location being there for years and me living in Crystal Lake for a long time, I took my first visit on Monday, June 9, 2025 to any Five Guys’ location and I was very impressed with the awesome burgers and different sizes as well as the extra fries in the bag, what a great idea! Really good food and I’ll have to add Five Guys to my list of CL favorites!
