Food is certified kosher under a conservative Rabbi and prices reflect the extra schmaltz, but are competitive within that frame. Highly recommended.

I recently went to Sloppy Joe’s Comedy Night at Fred and Murray’s Kosher Deli in Freehold, and it was such a fun and unique experience! They’ve started hosting this event once a month, and it’s the perfect combination of great food and nonstop laughs.

They put together a special limited dinner menu just for comedy night, featuring their classic deli favorites and a few exclusive dishes for the event. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and served quickly so you could relax and enjoy the show.

Ordered a pastrami sandwich to go. It was delicious! Well portioned for the big 10oz and the pastrami coleslaw ratio was perfect. Bread was super soft but yet strong enough to hold this monster sandwich together

Fred and Murry’s Kosher Deli delivers an exceptional dining experience, blending quality food, attentive service, and a warm atmosphere. We visited on a Thursday evening at 6:00 PM, and though the restaurant was not overly crowded (about 30% full), the service was prompt and efficient. The waitstaff quickly took our orders, and the food arrived promptly, fresh, and hot.

I opted for the Sloppy Joe, which was generously stacked and packed with flavor. The rye bread was perfectly fresh, complementing the quality of the meat. However, the standout of the evening was the side order of French fries we shared at the table. These weren’t your typical string fries—they were cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, making them a delightful surprise.

Fred and Murry’s also offers classic Dr. Brown’s sodas, and as a fan of the brand, I especially enjoyed the Black Cherry. In terms of affordability, this deli is reasonably priced, especially compared to other kosher delis I’ve visited in the past year.

Discovering Fred and Murry’s while getting my car serviced at Ray Catena was a fortunate find. For anyone who enjoys top-notch deli sandwiches, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended for its great food, affordability, and overall dining experience.

I wanted it to be a great experience but unfortunately I guess it wasn’t my cup of tea. I found the food to be incredibly bland on the level of hospital food though the French fries were excellent! The matzo ball soup was the most bland I’ve had. I took it home to doctor it but the patient died on the table. Now the quality of the food meaning the basics very good because the lack of spices doesn’t mean the ingredients are inferior. I loved the old knotty pine panels in the main deli area and I would return just for that because it’s nostalgic to me. Maybe I’ll try pastrami next time.

Today was a bad experience. From the start the coffee was like water. I had chopped liver that was flavorless. Doctored it up w lotsa stuff but left half. Honestly I’d forgive it if the pretty waitress had offered a replacement or acted a little concerned. Telling me it’s the same as always is the wrong answer. I’ve been here before and it has been good in the past! She even admitted to not ever having tasted Chopped liver, so how the heck does she know? So disappointed… No discount and got charged for the coffee so yeah, I’m a little bit Bummed out..
My boyfriend got hotdogs and he was perfectly satisfied, so that’s the reason I gave any stars…
Somebody needs to talk to the staff and teach them kindness goes way further and so would her tip. Still gave her 10% even though I didn’t really like doing it.

I have been eating at this establishment for almost 20 years and always enjoyed it. I noticed lately the some of my favorite dishes such as the chicken pot pie, roast beef, and the various salads Cole slaw, potato and Mac salad taste even better than before. I believe they have engaged a new chef in the kitchen and with great results. I almost forgot to mention the soups have been improved greatly with much more flavor. Keep up the good work!

Was in the mood for a deli sandwich. The food here was very good. I enjoyed the split pea soup with croutons, the pastrami sandwich with a side of Kasha Varniskas, and a Dr. Brown’s Black Cherry Soda. Everything tasted just great. Service was excellent. Restaurant is clean and very handicapped accessible. Highly recommend.

The food was actually really really bad. I went for lunch while at work and this was terrible. I got a brisket sandwich and my work partner got a fried chicken sandwich. The brisket was dry and tasted like it was warmed up from yesterday. The rye bread with the sandwich was definitely old and stale because the bottom of the crust was crunchy. The fries need some kind of seasoning. The gravy for the brisket was okay. I don’t even need to say anything about the chicken sandwich just look at the picture of how it was assembled. He said the bread tasted stale too. I will return only for the pickles, they are pretty good. The food was not worth the price. I couldn’t finish the Brisket so I got McDonald’s after.

This was a take out order. “Matza” Ball soup was weak and if there was any matza meal in those cannon balls, I’d be shocked. I even called and asked and I think they told a tall tale. The taste, texture and smell was more like semolina dumplings and they were like lead. Stick to deli at this place.
