I’m not sure what’s more tired at The Shenandoah: the fryer grease or the waiter’s attitude.
I ordered the chicken, and it came out looking like it had been through a house fire. When I pointed out that it was clearly overcooked, the waiter had the nerve to tell me that’s “how it’s supposed to be.” I didn’t realize “charcoal-style” was a culinary choice here. It was very much a “do you want it or not?” vibe, which is bold for a place serving food that looks like it belongs in a trash bin.
A different waiter—who actually seemed to have a pulse—eventually took the plate away. I decided to downgrade to a hot dog with mustard, onions, and chili, thinking they couldn’t possibly mess up a cookout staple. I was wrong again. It was the most “unseasoned” experience of my life. The chili tasted like it had never even heard of salt, let alone a spice rack.
I’m never coming back. If you enjoy overcooked food served with a side of “take it or leave it” entitlement, this is the place for you. Otherwise, literally go anywhere else.

While it took a little time for someone to come to our table and take our order, the food was worth the wait. The Titanic sandwich was delicious and offered a hefty portion of fries for $2 more. My wife had the catfish platter with green beans and mac and cheese. Catfish was crispy and delicious. My son enjoyed the cheese sticks.
The atmosphere is chill and features pool tables and gaming so looks like a great place to hang out but there was a lot of cigarette smoke, which is a huge detractor. The locals I observed there were very cohesive and seemed to really get along with each other and you could tell they were there frequently. It was really nice to see the camaraderie.
They make their own sides and sauces so there is much to explore. The bar was pleasant and very chill. We will be back.

We just stumbled on this place when we looking for a quick lunch. It doesn’t look like much from the outside and it’s a bit rundown, but you can tell that the people running it really care – there are some really pretty houseplants by the front door that someone clearly loves. It’s clean and the staff was very friendly. Solid American diner food – we had the patty melt and a chili dog, and both were fantastic, and the mozzarella sticks were super tasty versions of the classic. Don’t be put off by the outside – this place is definitely worth a visit!

I originally came here to shoot pool, as they have 3 tables and a smoking section. I have come back repeatedly because of the kindness of the people. That includes staff and the regulars. This restaurant is a cultural melting pot, and the conversations you can get into will be remembered forever. Come for the catfish. Stay for the experience.

Food is total garbage. Spent over $50 on door dash. The “chicken tenders” were a joke. Overly breaded small pieces of chicken cooked in really old oil. The chili cheese fries had no chili and the cheapest cheese you could imagine and no salt. The catfish was seasoned bad. A total waste. Do NOT recommend.

My family RAVES about the food. I did not try the food…just there to pick up a cake. BUT the chef was my cake baker! She also made me #vegan cupcakes. Sweets By Tina @Hershee39 outdid herself…now I can ask for vegan options when I go back to visit!

Me & my fiance came to Shenandoah & had a meal with a few issues, but they corrected the problem by reimbursement two free meals And also 2 desserts on the house we are pleasant to come back we love the Shenandoah house 🙂
