Had to see what a restaurant with a 4.9 rating had to offer and was not disappointed! Our party of 3 all loved the food and the brownie for dessert was one of the top 3 desserts I’ve had in my lifetime. Great cozy atmosphere and one of those places you’ll love to take people who’ve never been.

Wonderful place! Awesome service! The cheese plate was fabulous with local cheeses. We did not try the wine, perhaps next time. This is an adorable cafe and wine shop and everyone is so friendly!

Cute little store and restaurant. Easy to find. I can’t stop thinking about the flatbread pizza that I had here! Pear, Gorgonzola, bacon and apricot jam?? Sign me up! So good! This and the lavender tea was delicious!

I would give this 6 stars if possible….had the most excellent lunch as they hand craft their sandwiches from scratch….you can pair wine with your meal (we did the 3-glass flight with our meal). Highly recommend the hot ham and cheese sandwich with white bean soup on the side. Had the salted caramel brownie for dessert….everything was amazing! The rustic-eclectic atmosphere was the cherry on top….the staff and owners were wonderful as well! Couldn’t recommend this place more!

Delicious! You will love heading to downtown Excelsior Springs to shop and have lunch at Willow Spring. It is the icing on the cake for this quaint and historic town.
The Mercantile is in an old building that is beautifully restored and have lunch downstairs in lovely old rooms with mismatched tables and chairs. One room is old brick (prohibition-era), and the other is bright and sunny like mama’s kitchen with bead-board walls. And if you’re lucky, you might get to sit outside under the old gazebo attached to the building with a pretty overlook. The food is tasty and unique to only Willow Spring with daily specials. Then as you leave, check out the shop upstairs with an abundant selection of Missouri wines and spirits.
You won’t go wrong if you get the gang together and have lunch at Willow Spring Mercantile. I highly recommend! Oh, and it is worth the 30 minute wait…. gives you more time to check out the wines and treats in the shop!

We’re spending the weekend at The Elms, and at the very top of my list was The Mercantile in Excelsior Springs, MO — and wow, it did not disappoint!
This gem of a spot has the best selection of wines, bourbons, and beers — all proudly made in Missouri. The owners, Jim and Daphne, are the kind of people you could sit down with and happily lose track of time in great conversation.
Our dining experience was nothing short of amazing. Kerry, our server, took excellent care of us, and the food… absolutely incredible! Every bite tasted like it was made with love and fresh-from-the-farm ingredients.
We couldn’t resist taking home some Missouri beers and chocolates — and we’ve already started enjoying them! The flavors are outstanding. I honestly can’t wait to go back tomorrow for more of that unforgettable farm-to-table goodness.

Willow Spring Mercantile is one of my favorite Excelsior Springs locales. This quaint little shop has both a delicious restaurant and a specialty shop that has all kinds of Missouri wines/spirits and other products. The owners and staff are so nice and attentive. I definitely recommend stopping in for lunch and shopping; you won’t be disappointed.

I want to return to this city just to dine at their restaurant. We met the owners and had a wonderful discussion about their business; how they got started; the ups n downs of it all. Wonderful people.
We were driving thru and wanted to step in to some local stores; not expecting to purchase anything. Their selection of wines from different vintners across the state is tremendous. When the owner’s mentioned they bottled their own, I had to buy it. I cannot wait to get home and pop the cork.
They recommended reserving a table during one of their wine-tasting dinners. When we return we will definitely book that table.

If I could give 100 stars, I totally would! The food was amazing, and the service was absolutely top-notch. My wife and I went there for lunch while staying at The Elms Hotel for our honeymoon, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had.
While checking out the wine selection, the owner came over and told us all about Missouri wines. He recommended a sparkling rosé that was so good — and he couldn’t have been nicer!
The most incredible part? We didn’t even realize we’d left behind a scented candle we’d bought until the next day, and without us asking, they personally delivered it to our hotel! They actually remembered where we were staying just from our conversation the day before. That’s truly next-level customer service — the best you’ll ever find!
