First of all, the atmosphere is so cozy and warm. It feels simple but perfect! The decorations are all well themed and feel like a traditional and beautiful Chinese restaurant, without feeling over-crowded or like there’s too much going on! I wanted to come in to try the lunch special and I brought my book, and I had such a lovely and peaceful time reading. It was so cozy and perfect. The second I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. It all smelled so good and I could tell it would taste good, too!
The service was very good! My server was very sweet and helpful with my questions, and they were all so efficient and caring. From the moment I walked in, I was helped immediately and they were taking good care of me. My server also took the time to not just answer all my questions, but quickly find the answer if she didn’t know it off the bat! When one brought out my food, she quickly noticed a small error with it (I didn’t even mention it) and she quickly took it back to be fixed!!
The food was delicious! I got the Chicken & Vegetable lunch special and it was the best spring roll I’ve ever had, good fried rice, and a delicious and fresh vegetable and chicken meal! It came out about 10 minutes after ordering, too! It was so fast!
This part isn’t a problem with the restaurant, but I am writing this so that you may know if you have a similar question: I am a HUGE water chestnut fan and I asked if I could get water chestnuts on my meal. She said they only had chestnuts and offered those for a $2 upcharge, and I assumed we were both talking about the same thing, so I ordered them. They were regular chestnuts, so it changed the taste of my meal, of course, and I don’t like regular chestnuts so I shouldn’t have assumed they were the same! I picked them out just fine, though! They were cooked well, of course, but I just don’t like chestnuts, haha! Again — they did not do anything wrong and it was my own mistake/assumption! I didn’t ask them to change it because it was my mistake, and I truly am not upset at all. I am just letting other water chestnut fans know that they don’t have water chestnuts and it is REGULAR chestnuts, like the tree nut! ❤️ My own mistake and misunderstanding! Just letting you know!
Overall, I had a LOVELY lunch. It was the perfect lunch size/price/portion, and it was DELICIOUS!! I cleaned my plate!! I had a great time and would highly recommend Panda Cuisine to anyone looking for some good quality Chinese food in Lexington, or a good lunch deal! The vegetables were soooo fresh and delicious, the brown sauce was great, the chicken was tender… it was all yummy! I loved the atmosphere and the servers, too!! I definitely recommend stopping by, especially to check out the lunch deal!
(If I were to fault the restaurant, it would be that they had 1 too few on waitstaff. They seemed to be very strapped for time and were running around trying to keep up. However, there were way more takeout orders than in house and there were other staff working on that separately so they are managing the business well.)
Try if you are in town for fun or if you are a local looking for a new Chinese restaurant.
We ordered the orange chicken and mongolian beef. The temperature of the food was great. The flavor on the orange chicken was very pronounced, very tangy and yet sweet. There were fresh chunks of carrots, green pepper, and zucchini with sliced orange peel. The chicken had very light breading but was a little on the dry side.
The Mongolian beef cuts were thinly sliced, good cut of beef not chewy but there was an overwhelming amount of red, white and green onions. It was a little bit much. Surprisingly the flavor on them was not overpowering though, they were well cooked and more subtlety flavored, just alot of them.
Overall, it was a very good experience and we’d go back again. The food was delicious, the service was fast and friendly.
That was my fault I guess. I should have read the description online. But the service was terrible. The server never came back after seating us. No refills. We got the buffet so we had empty dirty plates on the table. For a while. Another server came n got them right before we left.
Our server didn’t even bring the check. We had to go up to the register n tell them what we got n where we sat.
I do not recommend bc of the service.
We arrived at 1pm on a weekend. The buffet was stripped. But what was there was really good. The Panda Hot Chicken was so numbing authentic. I would have love more duck on the buffet. I asked for chicken báo and they made it happen. Their “buns” are top notch. I felt bad for the buffet as I arrived late, but they made it great. I will return.
