Great homemade food, excellent service. The chicken fried steak wasn’t a previous frozen salt pad. They use FRESH food here. Biscuits were soft and huge. Very well priced and big portions!

I came by to try this place since some coworkers and other community members hype this place up, but overall I thought it was okay. For reference, I moved to the highland area a couple months ago and wanted to try out new restaurants.

One key thing to note is that this place is cash only, and they conveniently have an ATM inside. Regardless, prices are reasonable.

As I was enjoying my meal, I saw 2 others walk in and sit at a round table (seating 5), but were firmly asked to move to another table, presumably if others came in; keep in mind when this happened the restaurant wasn’t too packed (approx. 8am), therefore there were other spots the bigger parties could sit at. I wouldn’t include this in my review if there wasn’t another duo who sat at the same table without being asked to move.

When my food was brought out I was informed that they would top off my coffee, since my cup was empty, but was almost done by the time I got my refill: props to the gentleman who noticed and got it for me.

They also have pastries for sale, and the gooey butter cake cookie was good.

Overall, I would love to rate this place higher since I’ve heard so many good things, but unfortunately I do not see what the cause of the hype is all about.

The Friday fish special was absolutely delicious. My husband had a hamburger and it was also delicious. The service was quick and friendly. The local historical information throughout the cafe was informative and quaint. Had a great lunch experience here and will definitely be back!

I got the strawberry French toast with pecans and whipped cream & a side of smothered hashbrowns. This was enough for three people! The “side” of smothered hashbrowns is a full plate! The smoked met links are amazing!

The food was amazing. This is the best comfort food I ever had. The prices are unbeatable. This will be my regular go to breakfast place when I come through this town!

Service was quick and prompt . Food came out quick and good . The American fries as they were called weren’t really that warm or that crispy . Just soggy potatoes.
The country Fried Steak was good and crispy .
I would definitely come back here again
