OMG! I’m from Texas, where every Mexican restaurant is amazing one way or another. Since I’ve lived here in the past year, I have been searching for a good Mexican restaurant and this one is it! They served us homemade salsa that was delicious and the staff was very sweet. Our waiter even took a picture for us. The fajitas are to die for!

My boyfriend was really craving Mexican we saw a billboard for this place. Looked up the reviews which were mixed. He said let’s try it. Could not be more happy with our meal! The appetizers were delicious and the Hawaiian Fajitas were phenomenal! They even accommodated my boyfriends love of just plain bean and cheese burritos. Our waitress was quick and polite. We were there between lunch and dinner. After being seated, the waiter took our drink orders, brough us hot chips and dip. After our food order was placed, it came out quickly and was piping hot and delicious. Our party of 4 were very happy with our choices. Good value for the menu prices. They are consistently good with the food items on their menu.

Horrible service. Took 10 minutes to be seated (even though they were not busy), then while being seated took a while to even get our drinks like we were forgotten about, then the Waitress proceeded to take up the menus BEFORE she even offered to take our order?! When we told her that we didn’t even order yet she apologize profusely which still didn’t make it okay because it felt like we were forgotten all night! (By the time our order was taken it was 5mins til closing.) then when I received my check the first one was correct but when I received the merchant copy to sign into to leave a tip didn’t match the original one that was my order?! Definitely not coming back, and I get that places are short staffed but this is definitely not how you do business..

My family and I had our worst ever dining experience at El Zarape this evening. TLDR; the server was very sweet but the kitchen messed up most of our order, the OWNER refused to comp meals that were inedible or that we didn’t receive, and he VERY maturely punched the candy machine when I confronted him inside the restaurant about our problems after he refused to come to our table to discuss. We will never return to any of their locations.
We arrived at 7:30pm and waited to be served anything other than chips for about 20 minutes. Once our server was able to take our order things seemed okay; however, we didn’t receive any food until 8:30pm and it was only half our order. Some of our food trickled out over the next half hour but four of our meals were either missing items or the beans were ice cold and inedible. One meal came out with flour tortillas (after specifying we needed corn due to an allergy) and when we tried to send it back we were told they couldn’t (or wouldn’t) remake it. Our server tried to get items removed from our bill after no luck getting the items we ordered, and asked the manager and owner to come speak with us. He apparently refused and left the items on the bill (including the one we had to send back). I eventually got fed up and went into the restaurant to confront the manager/owner myself. When I told him we had been there for two hours, had only received or could eat half the food we ordered, and that I wanted items removed from our bill, his only response was “well I’m short staffed.” I explained that I understood that, but didn’t want to pay for food we didn’t receive or couldn’t eat. He twice pretended to remove items and then aggressively shoved the same bill at me and ran away. After the second time of me finding and cornering him to fix the issue he walked off and very maturely punched the candy machine as he walked by, grumbling something to himself. Throughout all of this, the owner was also treating the server horribly while she apologized profusely to us about our experience. We ultimately paid the bill despite our extreme frustration with the owner and his lack of customer service and professionalism, but only because we did not want our server to be stuck with paying our bill. There were several other tables that also appeared dissatisfied and one large group that was turned away at 8pm. I wish we had been so lucky. We can understand mistakes and slow service but the level of disrespect and lack of professionalism was inexcusable. We will never return to any of his restaurants.

The worst service ever. Took forever to get waited on. No refills on drinks. Food greasy. Waitor got an attitude when I ask for a soft taco instead of hard. Which by the way was swimming in grease. Had to chase him down to get the bill because after he brought our food he never came back to check on us. Then the topper was he charged all of us the dinner price not the lunch price and then just looked at me when I asked him about it. Will not be going back.
