The empanadas were amazing! The are made fresh to order. Beef and cheese wasn’t what I’m used to growing up but was still super delicious! The chicken broccoli was phenomenal along with the guava cheese. Will definitely be becoming a regular.

Very racist establishment! I’m a black woman. As soon as i walked in, i was ignored by cashier and cooks! I had to all but yell “I’m picking up my order” for them to stop their conversation to pay me some attention. The cook in the back kept rolling her eyes at me! I will definitely be reporting this business the BBB! Will never get my business again!

Oct 30, 2025 11:50am: Stopped by to grab two beef and cheese empanadas. The cashier entered two beef and cheese and two pizza by mistake. I politely corrected her, but instead of acknowledging it, she flipped the script and acted like I was the one who couldn’t pronounce my words. The attitude was unnecessary, condescending, and irritated. Honestly, how does “beef and cheese” sound anything like “pizza”? I know she’s a non-English speaker, but my God, basic listening skills and professionalism shouldn’t be too much to expect. I left and went somewhere else where courtesy and respect for customers still exist.

The first time I had the Cuban wow it was great the second time it was dry. This is the 3rd time I’ve had Mr. Empanada on Armenia and I hope the other locations are not the same. The salad with the chicken was really gross I could not eat it. The chicken was the same kind you can get at Walmart frozen/thawed in the bag and they just threw it on the salad. The apples were bad too. Maybe it’s cheaper this way but I couldn’t stomach it. The fries were soggy and had no salt.

Ordered 3 things, and all items were burnt. The fries given was already bad because it wasn’t a full bag, half the bag was empty and the fries on the bottom were all burnt, picture included is the fries left over that weren’t chucked out the window during my ride home. Now, the empanadas sides were too burnt to bite off, so they had to be discarded. Called to complain after getting home which was 40 minutes away, and the first call I was told to hold, then the line was disconnected, the second person who answered did not give her name and stated she’d give my contact information to the manager to find out what he wanted to do, stating she doesn’t know if I’ll have to come back today or tomorrow, I thanked her she didn’t say goodbye or hang up. Before hanging up myself, I could hear her move on to the next person in front of her to take their order. I then disconnected and started my review, Now upon going over the order with the 2nd woman on the phone I informed her the name on my receipt says (A) although I gave the woman at the register my name as (Key), which is also what I did when the woman on the phone asked what time I placed my order, and then when she finally found it she complained it made it difficult to find my order because it was listed with name (A). So even after she expressed distress, that my name was taken down wrong originally, she again didn’t remember my name was Key, and placed blame with me for being unable to find the order stating I gave her the wrong name to locate the order. So in all, my experience here was not enjoyable and food was a waste of money, since I’m now home making my lunch after paying for lunch.

Beef and cheese are my fav go to! Food was prepared fresh and you can see the kitchen is very clean. You may have to wait a bit but your food is being prepared fresh and will arrive hot. The store is very clean and staff are nice. If you like crab, the crab empanada is I hear this is a Tampa classic and well worth my try!

I like the big empanadas, I got two for dinner snack, and bought the new Cuban sandwich for lunch the next day, in the office. It was really good too. (edit) stop in for my lunch snack two empanadas are perfect. Always hot. No huge drive thru bs traffic lines. Winner!!!

I just arrived home with my happy bag of empanas, from Mr.Empanadas, I was so very disappointed because all my empanadas are brown and they smell like old & burned grease. I had them once b4 and they were great, not any of these they were horrible.

Staff is super nice, food always good, labeled separately so you don’t have to guess which empanada is which, always fresh.
