Pizza was OK though lots of cheese. Great atmosphere for groups and sport watching. Large area in the back for private party. Flat and wide entry for accessibility.
Parking could be difficult in Shattuck, paid street parking and public parking available.
We had the pleasure of dining at North Beach Pizza recently, and let me just say—it was an experience we won’t forget. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Isha, our server, who was nothing short of exceptional. Personable, genuinely engaged, and incredibly attentive, Isha went above and beyond to make us feel right at home. He took the time to get to know us, adding a thoughtful and authentic touch that made our meal truly special.
The food? Absolutely phenomenal. The North Beach Pizza itself was a masterpiece—the sauce, the meats, the perfectly melted cheese—all harmonized into a slice of heaven. The North Beach Chicken Club Sandwich was equally magical. The sourdough bread had the ideal crunch, the bacon was salty and flavorful, and the aioli tied everything together beautifully.
We started with the roasted broccoli appetizer, which was good but felt like it needed a little something to balance out the strong lemon flavor. Still, it was a solid start to an otherwise outstanding meal.
While the food was delicious and the prices fair, it was Isha’s service that elevated the entire experience. In a time when North Beach Pizza is working hard to rebuild after being forced to relocate, places like this need our support more than ever.
Do yourself (and them) a favor—check this place out, and tell a friend. If you’re in Berkeley and craving pizza or pasta with heart, flavor, and a side of stellar hospitality, North Beach Pizza is your spot.
Isha worked with me several weeks in advance to ensure all the space and table arrangements were the way I wanted them to be, guided me on ordering to maximize value and not overspend, and tended to our party of 100+ like we were the only guests there despite the place being busy.
The evening was wonderful as there was also a great band playing that night. We had then back rooms reserved just for us which ended up being perfect in terms of space.
The food was terrific as well – sometimes in larger orders the quality is compromised – that was not the case at all for us – the pizzas, pastas, and apps were all awesome – they were even able to scramble and get more pizzas arranged for us quickly when we realized we were going to have more guests than anticipated.
I called around to several places across Berkeley – Isha and team were the most engaged and made me feel like they were hosting something for one their own family members.
Thank you for an incredible evening – my son will never forget it!!!
Natalia and Michelle are two great people. Them let us so comfortable. And provided a really good service.
Keep those good people working for you, and you will succeed.
Nothing changes. Picked up what was already a done barely warm pizza 5 minutes early. The cheese had solidified.
Update 7/30/24:
From charging full price for half pie add ons; to giving red pepper and Parmesan cheese with your pizza pickup or delivery order, then skimping on them, then eliminating them; to giving a full thick crust, bottom and around to now only the exterior crust, yet still charging extra; to keeping the delivery fee and Slice fee when the driver doesn’t follow instructions (ringing the doorbell and handing it to the customer is too much to do for a tip), NORTH Beach Pizza plays way too many games.
I don’t want to have to call customer service every time North Beach and the driver mess up. But shorting the dough? That’s ridiculous!!
Previous:
Ok, look, if I’m ordering your largest 18″ pizza, I don’t want one tiny tiny container of parmesan cheese (see photos… that’s a quarter next to it sitting on the box) and 1 tiny packet of crushed red peppers. There’s just no excuse for it, especially with rising pizza and delivery costs.
Also, IF YOUR GOING TO CHARGE THE FULL PIZZA PRICE FOR A HALF PIZZA INGREDIENT, THAN PUT A WHOLE PIZZA’S AMOUNT OF THAT INGREDIENT ON HALF OF THE PIZZA. This is a longstanding cheat I have hated since you began it.
Let’s not be so cheap, North Beach Pizza!!
Plus. Customer service is kinda weird. Main guy just has massive headphones on the whole time even while talking to you. Not very professional.
