Stopped here on a whim while on a motorcycle ride, and couldn’t have been more pleased. Service was prompt and friendly, and the food was delicious with overly large portions. Had the pot roast special, totally recommend. Perfect small town country cooking.

I really want to give this restaurant a five star review. We ordered a TOGO order of perch and it was some of the best perch I have ordered in NC. BUUUUUT, it literally took about an hour for them to cook my order. One order of perch! This is unacceptable. The girls at the front were very friendly and nice and we’re checking on my order but it still took 50 minutes! People inside the restaurant came to eat and left before I got my Togo! I will be back because the food was that good but maybe to sit down in the restaurant and eat. Don’t think I will ever order a Togo and wait. oh and the homemade hand pies are soo good too!

I came here for breakfast after a sunrise hike in the South Mountains and I wasn’t disappointed. The food was excellent and was served quickly. The bacon was extra crispy, just like I requested. My check (for breakfast with an extra side, and coffee) was under $7, which I think is fantastic value. Service was top-notch too with the coffee refills hot and plentiful. I’ll definitely be back here.

Absolutely love this place. Got the flounder plate this time. My favorite item here. Flounder is always cooked perfect and it’s never greasy at all. Onion rings are huge and delicious. Service is great and the atmosphere is laid back and comfortable.

This was my first time eating here. The employees are friendly and attentive. There seems to be many locals who enjoy coming here often to eat and socialize. Food was served in a reasonable time and priced well. I was not impressed with the food quality. The crab cake seemed overcooked. Although the hamburger steak had onions and peppers on it, there no flavor or taste to it. The piece of pie was ok but again nothing special. Maybe this is how their regular customers like it and I’m okay with that; restaurants serve what the majority of their customers like. For me, there are other family restaurants in the area that I think serve better prepared food.
