The steak was excellent quality, generous portions, no fat and the sides were perfect. We had the potatoes and sweet potato fries with the steamed vegetables, excellent choice. The garlic bread was generous for two and one of the best I’ve eaten. The service was incredible, fast, efficient and professional. The atmosphere was 9 out of 10, wasn’t a lover of the ropes. Overall the best steak restaurant I’ve eaten at.

I ordered the 500g T-Bone, it was flavoursome and cooked as required. Note these steaks are all cooked on Woodfire, so if you don’t fancy a little “gamey” taste, you’ve been made aware.
The complimentary side was limited to 1, with the servings being quite small. No sauce offered. It had a decent seating area overlooking the port, however the outdoor furniture can do with a clean.

Amazing location for a top quality steak and some wonderful cocktails. Highly recommend the croquettes and scallops as an entree. Steaks we ordered were cooked to perfection with a sensational crust. Staff couldnt not be more attentive. Will definitely return.

Just dined here for a birthday lunch with my husband. Incredibly disappointed. We ordered the tomahawk as had heard great things. The cut was awful, very fatty and chewy and was charred to the point of no flavour. Service was not very attentive and no real personality. I also only got one drink as the servers didn’t follow up for me to order another. For the price of the bill ($200+) the food and service was nowhere near up to scratch.

We had a nice meal and have been before… The calamari and croquettes were tasty. We had a lovely bottle of Brokenwood Semillon and a Red Gate Shiraz. Staff seemed to wander with food, not sure where it was meant to go… wasn’t clear if sauces were included or extra – this was not clear on the printed menu either… last time we had the Tomahawk it felt special and they brought the raw steak out and caused a little bit of a fuss… this time… nothing.. ordered and it just arrived with no fanfare or consultation… our twenty something boys liked the extra attention… Both the normal rump and wagyu rump were nice- I couldn’t taste the difference.. We felt a bit rushed with appetisers and mains being served too quickly… food was tasty but there is room for improvement when you pay nearly $500 for four. We were given a booth and thanked our lucky stars not to be at the awkward tables where one chair seat towers over the other booth seat against the inside wall… awkward and I note they now have cushions to try to alleviate this but we still saw one couple ask to be reseated and they were…

Fantastic dining experience. We ordered the prime rib, T-bone steak, and lamb shank, and every dish was cooked perfectly. The prime rib was incredibly tender and full of flavour, the T-bone steak was juicy and seasoned just right, and the lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone with a rich, gravy-style sauce.
The quality of the meat was excellent – you can really tell they take pride in sourcing and preparing their steaks.
The buttery garlic potatoes were nice, however they had onion and capsicum mixed through them which wasn’t mentioned on the menu. Unfortunately that didn’t suit everyone at the table, so it would be helpful if that was listed.
Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere made it a great place for a relaxed but premium dinner.
Overall a fantastic meal and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend for anyone who loves a great steak.

The food and the atmosphere was beautiful!! When we saw the menu, the overall price was decent for high quality food in a very nice restaurant in Newcastle. Would highly recommend the South African prawns. The only issue was the service. It took about 15 minutes to just be given water. Another 20 minutes before we actually got up and asked someone to take our order despite many failed attempts at trying to get the staff’s attention who just look at you, this was also after another table also got up and asked someone to take their drinks order. After another long wait, we were asked if we were ready for our mains which was quite odd since we didn’t order entrees, thinking finally the food was coming but unfortunately it still took a while. Another table also had to ask 3 different people when their dessert was coming as they finished their dinner when we were first seated and were still waiting on their dessert after we finished eating. Whilst waiting to be seated, throughout dinner, and even while waiting to pay the bill, the amount of glasses being dropped behind the bar was concerning. When paying the bill the attendant didn’t confirm our table or meals, just handed the eftpos machine which faced the other way so unfortunately did not see that we were charged for a table who’s order was close to $600 when our order was only $150. Thankfully we picked this up afterwards when the receipt was given but the damage was done. We had to pay our $150 bill ontop of the almost $600 order that will be refunded but unsure when the money will return to our account. The staff were lovely, definitely no fault in that but definitely need more training on making sure the customers are checked in on regularly. Unfortunately a 2 hour dinner where only 25-30min spent on actually enjoying the food was a major let down.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was surprisingly quiet, the food more than made up for it. Great variety of steaks and they were cooked to perfection. Service was attentive without being over bearing. We will be back for sure.

Had a fabulous eye fillet for lunch, cooked perfectly. Great salad and the chips were excellent. Great atmosphere sitting outside overlooking the water. Staff were friendly, attentive but not overly so.
