Very nice clean facility, first time visitor. The A.M. crew & boss were all wonderfully friendly & kind to me!. The traffic on maps said “busier than usual” but it wasn’t so busy this Monday morning. I’ll be back for certain!

We’ve been in and out of Hickam for the last 3 weeks as I spent some of my terminal leave here. We’ve eaten here 6 times. My wife, three young kids and mother-in-law. This chow hall has been our go-to. They are very polite workers and it seems to be a contract with a company that helps those with special needs for some of the positions. The food is fine. They have the main line and then the burger and bad for you food line. Decent salad bar and choice of drinks. My young children have really enjoyed interacting with some of the workers cleaning the dinning area and being playful playing peekaboo and such. My wife, who know some ASLhas enjoyed talking to the deaf employee. It’s never very crowded at all and the prices are very good. Highly recommend for everyone, especially retirees or people on Space a that are just looking for a good meal and don’t want to cook in their hotel or resort.

Breakfast is the best meal here, as is the case with lots of chow halls. It’s also inexpensive compared to eating on the economy. About $4-$5 for a scramble, biscuit & gravy, and a glass of juice.

Food is pretty good. It charges around $7 to $8 on food including snacks and everything. It takes cash and card. You can also leave your feedback and they’ll make sure that needs are met. The staff is 100% very kind and energetic. Definitely eating here more often. They’ve improved a lot.

For a military dining facility, it’s good. The food is quality and its clean. One area of improvement though is that they need to improve their wrap station. It’s slow. I kept leaving feedback for them that they need to do exactly like the McGuire AFB wrap station does their wraps. However this facility is still good.

If you’re going and paying cash or credit card, pay attention. They’ll charge you for things you didn’t get and when you draw attention to it, they’ll say they’re unable to refund you, so you’re just out the money.

Depressing.

Pro: Open early, plenty of parking, great service, discounted food

Con: Ala Carte pricing. Variety was severely limited.

Summary: Was told it was the best place to eat, but was severely disappointed. Except for the excellent service, the prices and variety of items was severely lacking. It might be better to make your own breakfast or go to breakfast elsewhere.

A la carte military cafeteria with a clean atmosphere. I was able to get breakfast for under a dollar and satisfied my hunger. And it wasn’t bad! The phrase “you get what you pay for” doesn’t apply here — they go above and beyond! I didn’t understand that I had to leave my tray at the table because the staff would clean up after me. Don’t be as confused as I was. They will clean up after you. Recommend for a quick bite on the way into work.

They don’t take card. They don’t have coffee at breakfast. They should post that they are cash only at the door so you don’t wait 15 mins while your eggs are made and then have them take your food at the register while you leave and go to the atm. Like I’m an active duty servicemember, it shouldn’t be like this.
