We had a wonderful dinner at Wicked Oyster! The crab pasta was absolutely delicious — rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. My ribeye was a little underdone for my taste, but our server, Evey (not sure how to spell it!), was fantastic. She immediately took care of it and had it cooked a bit more. The staff even offered us dessert on the house for the trouble, which was such a thoughtful gesture, even though we didn’t end up getting any.

The spicy margarita was amazing, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of heat. Overall, great food, great service, and a relaxed Cape Cod vibe. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

I would never imagine that food of this caliber would be found outside of a big city. This restaurant is so delicious, we came back a SECOND night in a row to try more menu items! We tried most everything on the menu between the last two evenings and there is not one item that was a disappointment or waste of stomach space. Our top five recommendations would be: focaccia bread, filet of sole, crab pasta, Jonah crab salad, and the mushroom curry. I’m not a beet person, but even I ate the beets, further proving how excellent the offerings are. Not only that, but our servers were attentive, friendly, and proactive throughout both evenings providing new utensils, clean plates, and drink refills without needing to be asked. The atmosphere is comfortable and easy to carry a conversation in, but there is a lively buzz from all the guests within making you feel like you’re somewhere special. I highly recommend giving this spot a shot, but beware, it will become your new local favorite.

They seem to have changed to a more bistro style than last time I ate here. Food was good, but expensive. $10 for bread, that wasn’t even the bread on the menu. Most entrees are near $40. For that price and setting there are much better choices on the Cape

Five stars based on the quality of the oysters, the helpfulness of the staff, and the inviting atmosphere. I stopped in for oyster happy hour and a glass of wine and sat on the couches to enjoy them. I did not try any of the main food so I can’t comment on that, but a dozen oysters for $20 coupled with a glass of vinho verde that my server recommended was the perfect appetizer to hold me over before my dinner plans later. I look forward to returning and trying the full menu.

Update as of May 31, 2025: I look forward every summer to dine here during my visits to the Wellfleet area. The service and food continue to exceed expectations with attentive and friendly servers. On this visit, the food highlights were: the Sole entree with a smooth spectacular buerre blanc; the kitchen changed my favorite sherry sauce on their mussels to a tomato chorizo sauce that is worthy alternative…I still though miss the sherry version and I wish they offered choice of the sauce; and the chocolate mousse dessert – so smooth and creamy like chocolate pudding and fudge had a baby, and the best thing I love about their desserts is they continue to be perfectly balanced – not overly sweet with subtle savory notes and textural accents (nuts)!!! Another notable change this time around is their cocktails have improved for the better: the Espresso Martini was superb and the Margarita was finally well balanced and smooth (so hard to get right!). Overall, more fabulous food and service at one of my favorite restaurants.

Update as of June 28, 2024: Consistently amazing! Service is excellent! The Mussels continue to be the standout dish. The lobster gnocchi is very good with the gnocchi like pillows. We tried their desserts this time and what a nice surprise to have desserts – the chocolate cake and sesame ice cream – that are savory and sweet, loved them. The chef changed the sauce on the Skate to a red pepper sauce but we prefer the pot pie sauce. I added more photos of the delicious food!!! We cleaned our plates.

New owners and new menu! We liked and enjoyed the previous version of this restaurant and we are so happy the new version is excellent! The food is very delicious. Highlights were the Steamed Mussels, Roasted Skate and the Smoked Half Chicken. We can’t wait to return and try more dishes on the menu! They are still working out the kinks with new staff – there were little slip-ups here and there – and new reservation system so patience and understanding is needed.

Delicious! Thats the word I would like to start my review with. I was dying for Wellfleet oysters, those are my favorite and they were fresh, tasty, just right. Mussels come in the sauce, taste of which you think you can imagine by reading the ingredients in the description, but it amazes you from the first bite, it’s not a usual white or red with chorizo, the combination of flavors I can still remember with my tongue but have no idea but have no idea what ingredients were inside. Very tasty. I have also shared a burger with my husband. THE BEST BURGER We EVER had in our lives. No idea what the secret is, but I will remember it forever. And the potatoes that come with it were crunchy and tasteful and definitely a new way to serve a burger with. Also, would like to mention the Happy Hour. Overall, compliments to the Chef! Seriously considering becoming a Wellfleet resident just to have an opportunity to come here more often. Definitely will be back!

Absolutely wonderful restaurant! Definitely my favorite in Wellfleet. They have a great happy hour from 4 to 6 with specials on oysters and burgers, plus the full menu is still available. Liam the bartender is the best!!

Not the most extensive menu but excellent preparation, service and super cozy. The bar is also excellent and their cocktails are way above average. Outside seating is very comfortable in the summer. I WISH THEY WOULD BRING BACK THE OLD WICKED BREAKFAST MENU!

I wanted so badly to fall in love with this place again after having a spectacular meal here with my husband a few years ago. But it was … weird. I took my daughter here for birthday dinner. Wellfleet oysters were delicious. We also ordered charcuterie, which turned out to be a relatively large plate of many slices of one type of cured meat — similar to Genoa salami. There was an absolutely unnecessary generous drizzle of olive oil on it. But cured meats like this don’t need that! Those white flecks? They are literally fat. Weird. (Is it odd to think a charcuterie app would be more than one kind of something?) Then someone from the kitchen came to our table with another, slightly smaller plate of many more pieces of the same meat and apologized profusely for having seen the first plate go out and thinking it wasn’t enough and it’s a new starter so here’s some more of the exact same thing. Our main course was fine but damn, can people stop putting RAISINS in savory dishes? And there was more olive oil on my polenta. Good olive oil, but still. My companions crab pasta was good, she said. Dessert finally — the chocolate pudding. It had a white lemony crust of some kind on top with some shriveled blueberries (raisins?) and I think some thyme and … yes, more olive oil. The pudding was decent but very very hard, like they made it this morning and it was in the fridge all day instead of bringing it up a little closer to room temp? It was like digging through very hard-packed soil. I was so disappointed with the overall quality of the meal. The service was good, mostly, the room was relatively easy to hear our conversation. I don’t think I’ll go back, unfortunately.

We had a fantastic meal last night at The Wicked Oyster in Wellfleet. We’d been here in previous years and thought we knew what to expect (an excellent meal). What we didn’t expect was under new ownership/management/executive chef it was even better than we remembered.
We sat at the bar and service was kind, prompt, engaging and helpful.
We ended up eating appetizers which were substantive and phenomenal.
The beet salad (with pistachios, tahini dressing and pickled onions) was the best we’ve ever tasted. The oysters, while out of season, were a briny, ocean flavored kind of deliciousness. Wellfleet oysters are hard to beat. I couldn’t resist ordering the thinly sliced coppa with evoo (which, being married to a vegetarian I knew I’d be finishing alone). The housemade focaccia, the little gem salad (with Parmesan and hazelnuts) were on point. The seared scallops (which sat atop a corn and shellfish sauce “relish”) were perfectly seared on the outside and perfectly moist on the inside.
We had no room for dessert but upon our return the Basque cheesecake with saffron peach compote is certainly on the table.
The use of fresh and available ingredients (sourced from Chatham Bars Farm), including interesting garnishes like marigold fronds and purple basil, make this a remarkable dining experience.

Cocktails were equally delicious. For dessert we enjoyed Spanish espresso martinis which use Liquor 43 and tequila (we opted for a more traditional Belvedere).

Kudos to the new owners.

If you’re ever in this area, get here as quickly as you can.
