Holy smokes! This was the best food we’ve had in Bellingham so far! Everything was incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor. The staff was wonderfully friendly, patient, and offered great suggestions that made the experience even better. The dishes were absolutely delicious, and the vibe makes it a perfect spot for a quick, casual lunch. If you’re in the area, don’t miss this gem. You’ll thanks me later. We’ll definitely be coming back again soon!

Given the way Fairhaven Poke is often spoken about as “the best poke in Bellingham,” I arrived with high expectations and a fairly calibrated palate. Unfortunately, the experience did not come close to earning that title.
The bowl presented well enough visually, but composition matters far more than color. The temperature inconsistencies across the ingredients were immediately noticeable and disruptive. Proper poke should feel cohesive and intentional, with clean, chilled freshness throughout. Instead, this bowl suffered from uneven thermal contrast that muddied the flavors and broke the harmony of each bite. The result was disjointed rather than balanced.
Equally disappointing was the limited range of protein options available. A poke establishment that carries a reputation for excellence should showcase variety and quality in its fish selection. Restriction at the protein level undermines both customization and culinary credibility. Choice is not a luxury in poke, it is foundational.
Flavor wise, nothing was outright offensive, but very little was impressive. The seasoning leaned blunt rather than nuanced, and the supporting ingredients felt assembled rather than curated. Good poke highlights the fish. Great poke respects it. This did neither particularly well.
For a venue widely labeled the best in town, the execution fell surprisingly short. Reputation set the bar high, but the bowl never approached it.

I’ve been coming here for years and I truly do love their food, I think it’s some of the best poke in the PNW. That being said, their price increases are truly astronomical for the amount of poke you get. They’ve raised what used to be the regular bowl price from around $18 to $25 now and nothing about the bowls have changed. Mind you, when I first started going the regular bowls costed only $13. Also 75% of the time I come in, the options to choose from are a third of what they usually have, either they’re not producing enough or they’re not producing at all (granted this could be a supply issue) but it is happening routinely and consistently. I still love the food but it just isn’t worth the price point anymore and the staff is really amazing and friendly

I am visiting Belingham and my sister and I walked by Fairhaven Poke. We decided to look and see what they had. They had a large variety of fresh traditional poke selections, sides and amazing toppings. The service was friendly and welcoming. I asked many questions and the staff here were so helpful. I got the mini which was plenty of food for me, but definitely would get the larger for a little more depending on your appetite. My poke bowl was amazing!!! They have GF choices as well as tofu options! Phenomenal poke, Phenomenal service. Ill be back

The fish was great quality, equal sized pieces with no toughness to it. My favorite was the spicy tuna although – be aware it’s not very spicy but can be made so by some of the sauces on the side. The tofu we ordered was really well flavored and provided a good alternative if you happen to be visiting with anyone that doesn’t eat raw fish.

Delicious and authentic Hawaiian Poke dishes with loads of fish options to choose from as well as some vegetarian options with tofu and veggies to top your rice. Definitely a staple in the Fairhaven area and the best place in town to get poke.
Awesome crew that provides great service, too!

We had the spicy tuna poke, with green salad and seaweed salad. It was absolutely delicious a nice big portion too. Good prices and big serving size. We could not go inside because of the pandemic, but we took our food to stone’s throw Brewery and ate on their rooftop! Which was a wonderful experience. Nice to bring your own food.
