Eaten here twice so far, and both times I’ve had a great experience. Both times I’ve eaten here there was no wait for a table, and there were multiple seating options available. Only came here for lunch during the week, so maybe that’s why it wasn’t crowded and our food and drinks always done out very quickly (usually within like 15 minutes). Waitresses are helpful and friendly and the inside seating is truly a unique vibe with the decor, plants etc. outdoor seating is pleasant as well. We were told that the upstairs seating is for larger parties. It would have been nice to eat up there though. Highly recommend the aguas frescas, you can tell they are made fresh not from a powder mix. The seafood enchiladas were delicious, as were the fish tacos. I also HIGHLY recommend the ceviche, it’s some of the very BEST I’ve ever had. The salsa rojo that comes with the chips is VERY HOT be careful, I’d recommend some horchata while eating it.

The food at this location was amazing, but the only thing it’s a little pricey. We got the oysters and they were really fresh and good. Their drinks are really good also. They have a great selection of margaritas and micheladas. The service is very professional and fast. The vibe is really cool. The decor and music makes this spot a cool place to hang out with friends or just on a date.

I got myself the lobster surf and turf, which was absolutely phenomenal for it’s price of $68. Although the lobster felt a bit dry, the steak was phenomenal. The waitresses were friendly, and the restaurant had nice ambiance. Would definitely come back again.

Omg Ceviche Karina, Taco Birra, whole fried red snapper, seafood enchiladas, passion fruit Mojito delicious. Best part of my San Trip. So much so I ate there twice. Only downside no Tres Leches either day I visited. Fresh, favorable, great staff.

Stopped by for a quick beverage and snack for my little one. On a Fri afternoon, this place was not that busy at all. Beautiful outdoor seating, plenty of TV’s with Live Sports, and an attentive staff who got us seated in the outdoor seating area.
We just got a small serving of rice and beans which was throughly enjoyed by my little one.

My husband and I went here tonight for dinner for the first time. We will be going back! We are in our late 60s and don’ eat as much as we used to, so we shared a beef fajita plater. It is by far superior to any other place we’ve ever been. We also had their chips and salsa. The waitress said that alot of people say that the salsa is to spicy, but I say that it is adicting, I was full but couldn’t stop eating it. It was spicy but not to hot. We had their Tres Leches cake for dessert and it was fantastic. We wish that There was a Karinas in Escondido so that we could go more often. They have a large menu and I am looking forward to trying everything else. The restaurant was beautiful. I loved the music. I’ve never heard Mexican music like it before. It had a beat fit for belly dancers. I dont understand spanish so i dont know what the music was about, just that it was mesmerizing. The waitresses were attentive, service was excellent.

Came here for a family dinner. They have an area on the first floor with a semi private room. It was the perfect atmosphere for a dinner party. The food at Karina’s is so good. Everything we ordered was delicious and the margaritas are always perfect.

Had Valentine dinner today here at Karinas Cantina Gaslamp , overall the atmosphere , ambience were excellent, the food was good. As for the waitress she did deliver an acceptable level of service , I requested to speak with the manager to voice my discontent with service up to that point. To make things worse the waitress repeated the same level of poor service to the people seated next to us , they also asked to speak with the manager and voice their discontent, With that said I suggest that all waitresses receive refresher training so that customers are treated properly.

Had a great experience at Karina’s downtown San Diego. We sat at the bar for a couple of cocktails — the drinks were amazing and the service was super friendly. The Spanish reggaeton music gave the place a fun, energetic vibe. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for good drinks and a lively atmosphere!
