Kafekali & Bakery (pronounced Café-Kally) means “coffee house” in Nahuatl — a name that honors tradition, community, and the love of sharing good food. Nestled in the rolling landscape of Canyon Lake, we’re a boutique bakery and coffee house creating handcrafted baked goods and made-to-order pastries using locally sourced ingredients, paired with high-quality specialty coffee. We also sell Blue Bell Ice Cream & Matcha! From our flaky croissants and house-made treats to rich espresso drinks, we believe in attention to detail, warm service, and the simple pleasures of food made with heart. Come see us!

Me and my husband stopped by just from passing and we’re blown away! We had the cuban empanada, chocolate croissant, lemon raspberry streudal, jalapeno kolache, and their seasonal Spanish latte. Everythjng was delicious. They source their sausage from a local meat market as well. Probably the best kolache I ever had. The food, coffee, service, and atmosphere of the place was amazing. We used to have a favorite spot out in another town and when they closed we were so sad, this place has replaced that for us! We were very sad to see the business for sale sign so we hope for nothing but prosperity for the business owner. The experience was amazing, felt homey and valued. Definitely recommend visiting if you’re in the canyon lake area! Definitely a hidden gem!

Unassuming little cafe on the outside, but does it ever deliver!!
I had a regular latte because I don’t enjoy the taste of overly sugary drinks. The very sweet lady at the register suggested I try the bees knees at half sweet. It was amazing! As a group we also tried the smore please, a peppermint candy and everything was incredible. The cookies were all absolute perfection. Crispy bite, soft inside. We shared several and they were all so good. I guess what I’m trying to say, I have no favorites, at least not until I’ve tried everything over several times. I highly encourage you to discover this little hidden gem for yourself.

Over in New Braunfels going to stay at an Airbnb. We stopped at a little coffee shop for Kathy.
Now on the corner of this little road. Very easy to see. We go inside and are greeted with a counter of food and some good menu prices.
I decided to get a flat white which is my go-to drink. I also picked up the scone.
My wife got a flat white as well and a chocolate croissant.
It was cute to see all the different options and them is nice to see the food was made in house.
The service was knifinniceg. We were taught a little bit about the area by the employee.
Definitely say not a bad little place to get some caffeine out in the middle of Texas. Give it a stop.

About time I found this place! True gem and best coffee and bakery place I have ever been to. Kolaches were super delicious, coffee made fresh and the staff is friendly and works hard for every visitor. Can’t go hard here, came here twice in one weekend. Will be returning asap! Thank you KafeKali!

Went through the drive thru of this place and were immediately met with cheerful customer service. The kolaches were delicious. We also tried the lemon blueberry danish and it was perfect. Not too sweet. And finally, the biggest bear claw I’ve ever seen. It was fresh and just as delicious. Definitely recommended stopping by.

We are long time locals in the Canyon Lake area, but today was the first time we’d tried this wonderful coffee shop and bakery. We are staying in a nearby airbnb while our home, that was hit by a tornado, is being repaired. Even though we normally don’t go out for coffee and pastries for breakfast, we decided to do so this morning and treat ourselves. What a pleasant surprise! Such a quaint place with aromas of freshly baked pastries and fresh coffee, and a very friendly young lady who helped us make our selections with suggestions. We ended up with way more than we could eat, but we will enjoy the rest of them tomorrow morning. We’re so glad we discovered this gem!

My favorite coffee shop in New Braunfels and Canyon Lake. We’ve been coming to Kafekali since 2021 and I can’t believe that I haven’t written a review before. Best pastries, best mocha and best batch brewed flavored coffee in the area in my opinion. I don’t often get to stay and relax in the garden but it’s a lovely way to spend a morning! Thank you to all the wonderful folks at Kafekali for your hospitality!

Holy cow. This place has been on my want-to-go for quite a while and we are so so so glad we finally got to visit. Staff was super sweet and friendly. Not sure if we met the owner or manager but she was wonderful to work with. She was patient with us trying to decide what to order as everything looked so good. The pastries on the counter and back wall were beautifully displayed and equally delicious. If you’re looking for a cozy spot to grab a coffee or small breakfast pastry in the beautiful hill country this is the place. The coffee was rich and delicious. They have a small indoor area to wait or order and plenty outdoor seating. Drive through open also!
Nothing but love here! And don’t forget to bring your pups by for a little treat and extra lovins!

We’re originally from Germany and we were genuinely impressed. The strudel at Kafekali & Bakery is absolutely outstanding, perfectly crisp, beautifully filled and honestly better than in Germany. You can really taste the craftsmanship and love that goes into their baking. Everything else we tried was also very good.
A true piece of home for us. We will definitely be back!
