A hidden gem in the heart of San Fernando!
Maria Restaurant / Restaurant Maria is truly a great hidden jewel in the center of San Fernando, California. The Mexican food is delicious, and the customer service is excellent!
I ordered the Chicharrón en salsa verde (pork in green salsa) — absolutely mouthwatering. My mom had the famous Menudo, and she loved it. Everything came with large, soft handmade corn tortillas — fresh and perfect with every bite. We also enjoyed their Café de Olla — I couldn’t resist having two and a half cups. Simplemente delicioso! ☕️
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and to top it off, there was live music from two well-dressed golden-age gentlemen singing and playing their guitars — such a lovely touch.
A big THANK YOU to Rafa and Adan for their outstanding and friendly service. We’ll definitely be back soon❣️

Update: spoke with Adriana today after going back and fourth with my bank for a week now. She was kind enough to resolve the issue. She apologized for the inconvenience and the issue the ATM has caused. She listened to me and my frustration showed sympathy for the situation. And did the correct thing to avoide this being a bigger issue. She Zelled me the 100$ from the ATM. & i also want to add our server was amazing the man with the glasses was not came to find out he is actually not the “owner” like he mentioned. Over all my issue was fixed by her.
EVERYONE BEWARE THE ATM STEALS YOUR MONEY I TOOK MONEY OUT A $100 WAS TAKEN FROM MY BANK ACOUNT BUT THE MACHINE NEVER GAVE IT TO ME. THE “OWNER” DIDN’T CARE SAID TO CALL THE NUMBER ON THE ATM I CALLED NO RESOLUTION. OWNER DID NOT CARE SAID THE MACHINE WAS NOT THEIR PROPERTY. BUT IT’S IN YOUR ESTABLISHMENT. MAKES NO SENCE SO A $77 MEAL COST MY FAMILY $177 SINCE MY BANK IS NOT ABLE TO REFUND ME THAT BECAUSE IT STATES THAT IT WAS REMOVED FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT FROM AN ATM, SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL. THIS IS A MONEY STEALING SCHEME BUSINESS I WILL BE CONTACTING THE BETTER BUSINESS BRU TO REPORT THIS FRAUD AND TO MAKE EVERYONE AWARE, PLEASE BE CAREFUL THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE DON’T CARE TO ASSIST. The food is traditional and delicious, weekends get busy here. Take out is recommended in the weekend. Try the “Sopes de Asada” they are the best. This place serves food with fresh made tortillas every day.

When I miss my moms caldo de res, I come here it’s usually ready after 9 am (the caldo).I have been coming here for over ten years. It’s very affordable, you do need to pay in cash. I can feed one adult and two kids when I add two extra servings of rice for the caldo. They add several handmade tortillas, one entire avocado, lemon, and salsa on the side. It is the best caldo I have tried. My husband loves the burrito with no meat. We eat for less than $20. There is not a lot of parking so we order for pick up. The ladies are always pleasant. Can be crowded on the weekends.

This was my first time at this restaurant. It’s definitely not a family oriented restaurant, small parking lot if you’re not so picky about good quality mexican food. This is the place for you, I ordered menudo, and it was a bit grease. It wasn’t served hot it was warm. The menu consists of typical Mexican food, yet it’s not good quality, I got the feeling that the cooking staff prepared the food at their discretion because the menudo was salty, grease, and overcooked. It was a good experience yet. I’m not sure if I want to come back anytime soon. Like I said, if you’re not picky about good quality mexican food, then this is the place for you.
