I was so excited to try this… Reading reviews and looking at pictures I was very optimistic. I like a thin crust with a bit of char on the edges. They definitely delivered the visual. I ordered a medium pepperoni cooked well done. The crust was perfectly crispy on the edges. But the rest of the crust was frankly like cardboard. Not crispy and almost difficult to chew at times. The sauce was decent, not my style but not offensive. A pizza rating is extremely subjective, and for me this was a miss. Close, but not what I am looking for. Best gluten free pizza dough I have EVER had! I got the brotherly love pizza gluten free and dairy free. I enjoyed every bite. It wasn’t small like most gluten free pizza. It definitely could feed two adults or three kids. The service was very chill and attentive. The place is so cute, right next to the lake.

Back Alley has been operating since the late 90s, and they make a good pizza. I had the traditional veggie pizza and they didn’t skimp on the toppings. The flavor was good and the crust texture was also a tad crispy. I was very happy with it.

We were on our way home from camping, everyone started talking about food. We all wanted something amazing, and we definitely found it! I loved each type of pizza we purchased! Great little takeout place pizza has crispy thin crust great sauce and proper portions, generous but not ridiculous amounts. Sandwiches and grinders are the outdoor table next to us looked incredible and the couple said its one of the best they’ve ever had. I’d make a special trip from GR to eat here again!

We tried all of the trendy dinner spots (most disappointing) while visiting Douglas & Saugatuk for the week… Back Alley was my favorite meal. Exactly what I look for from a local pizza joint. Top notch pizza, super fresh Greek salad, friendly staff on the phone and in person. It was a busy weekend so from some advice we knew to order ahead of anticipated dinner, but definitely worth the wait. Thanks for rounding out our local dining adventures on a positive note. Wonderful tasting pizza! The crust had a nice crisp bite to it and the cheese was plentiful and flavorful! Cheese breadsticks are also a winner! Covered in lots of ooey gooey cheese and garlic goodness! Love their subs as well, packed with toppings! The tables inside are cool pizza themed!
