I finally got to try a New York System hot wiener for the first time, and wow – what a delicious introduction! I’d heard about these Rhode Island classics but never had one until I stopped in here. Hands down, just great all around.
The place is spotless – clean restaurant, immaculate restroom, everything feels fresh and welcoming. The owner and staff? Super friendly and genuinely nice – they made me feel right at home even as a first-timer.
I went for the classic hot wiener “all the way”: steamed soft bun (perfectly pillowy), the wiener grilled just right, topped with that incredible seasoned meat sauce that’s savory, rich, and full of flavor (think subtle spices, not spicy chili). Then comes the that special sprinkle of celery salt for the yum factor – it ties everything together beautifully! So tasty, no weird aftertaste, just pure satisfaction in every bite.
And don’t skip the freshly made French fries – crispy, hot, and perfectly salted. Simple perfection.
Free street parking can be a bit tricky (might need to circle a little), but trust me – it’s totally worth driving around for a spot. This is a must-try if you’re craving something unique, comforting, and downright delicious. Always good affordable food, weiners a RI tradition. Been going here for years, they used to have a to go window open late nights for after club hours. Breakfast was good also. Good times of the past. Sad to see them go 🙁

I used to think olneyville was the best, but with the new hillside owners, they’ve managed to do the impossible and beat olneyville in taste and quality. My new favorite wiener place. Plus olneyville is owned by out of state billionaires now. Shop local and support actual small businesses like hillside ny system.

Had a great breakfast experience. The lemonade tasted fresh, the pancakes were expertly cooked and as a Latino I can say that the burrito is actually good! Loved the breakfast potatoes, too. We also ordered the breakfast sandwich on a croissant and it was excellent. We also love the lunch fries and shakes. Friendly service, too. Highly recommend!

Went Baba’s Original New York System yesterday, grabbed a couple all the way to go. fresh steamed bun, preformed wiener, good sauce and mustard perfectly applied, nice mince on the onions for those onion critics out there, very good overall wiener, the place is very clean and has a welcoming atmosphere, awesome staff. will definitely stop in again.

I went and dined in with a friend. The food was ok. Good fries but lacked seasoning. Weiners were ok, the ground beef meat was kinda dry. My friend had a grilled cheese, it looks like they used American cheese. She described it as bland tasting and the bread was a little cooked on the darker side. The Milk shake was ok. Only diet soda available was Diet Coke. It would be nice if they had more diet soda options, like diet ginger ale. (More clear diet soda options)

Went in on Thursday night, was great. Met owner, enjoyed it, but came in on a Sunday at 6 and even though they’re “open” it was completely dark and closed. See no notice of it on social media either so a bit upsetting
As a response to their response, they’ve been open months, not over decade, that was old owners. And I have multiple people with me who have confirmed it said open at time, so perhaps they updated hours before replying. We came to support small business over the big businesses taking over, just be transparent
