Delicious Mexican food! If you’re trying to decide between carnitas or kalua pig, here’s the difference: Their carnitas are some of the best I’ve ever had (and I have a native San Diego friend who makes his own delicious Coca-Cola carnitas), but the kalua pig here could win BBQ awards all across the South! Get it! This place is a must every time we visit Hawaii.

My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant five years ago during Covid. We visit the Island twice a year and this is our go place for Mexican food on Oahu. We have tried other restaurants, but nothing compares to Javi’s. The food and drinks are delicious, and the service is fantastic. Their strawberry margaritas taste like a strawberry Starburst. If you’re looking for delicious Mexican food you need to give them a try.

This place is my favorite go-to for taco Tuesday, lunch, dinner, any time of the day. It feels like a sliver of home for me, and the food is wonderful which is a nice change of pace since good Mexican food is so hard to find on the island. The atmosphere is perfect, with Spanish music and decor so consistent with what I grew up with in Colorado and Arizona. Service is always incredible when I come here too. Thanks for making me feel at home Javi’s!!

The menu is filled with both modern and traditional favorites. I really love their chimichanga. They get the fry on it right and the sauce they use is great. Their plates come with the right amount of sides. No skimping. The flan is homemade and delicious. The service was outstanding and attentive. There was always someone checking in at exactly the right time.
