Mochinut Peoria

Social Profile:

Mochinuts are a hybrid of traditional American doughnuts and Japanese mochi. They are made of sweet rice flour which, as you may have guessed, is the primary ingredient for mochi. This mochi rice has a soft gooey texture. So after these donuts are fried, the result is a slightly crispy exterior with a surprisingly chewy interior.

We were greeted immediately once we opened the doors, which was very nice. The shelves were very stocked. We ordered the 3 pack, and she was nice enough to wrap the Nutella one separately due to my daughter’s peanut allergy. She also ordered the iced coffee and was happy they put Boba into it. She was not expecting that. I thought mine was a bit stale.

Good donut, chewy dough texture, sweetness is just right. A bit pricey for its size. In general, ok.

I got a brown sugar boba, a chocolate mochi donut and 3 Korean dogs. I specifically wanted the brown sugar Boba for the cute bottle and they just gave me a plastic cup with a lid like Starbucks so that was kind of disappointing and then the menu online had the five pack of the dogs which I wanted, but they said they didn’t have that so I had to order individually . They were full of donuts, and the one I chose was chocolate, but it was very stale like it was sitting out there all day. And there was no sides at all on the menu so I couldn’t even order sides, even though there was handwritten signs over the menu saying there was none. And then my son wanted to try the ice cream takoyaki and they didn’t sell that at the location. Not sure what’s going on with this location kind of feel like they lost their license to sell what Mochinut is supposed to sell. And when I got the dogs, they didn’t have proper packaging so I had to carry each dog individually. They didn’t even have bags to put it in. But they were good.

Wow! I was not ready for how big these corn dogs were. I got two thinking I was going to have a couple of regular old corn dogs. This is definitely like the mother of all fair foods and I would recommend it for a fried carb loaded, sweet and savory treat.
The donuts are specialty made out of rice flour. They’re a little pricey so I decided to just get the custard filled little mini fish. The flavors were great. Fries were crispy and plentiful and there are variety in flavors and fillings for these Asian style corn dogs.

A worker told me about this place and I’ve brought the kids a couple of time. They have no indoor seating and is meant to get your items and go. The first time we came the kids working there were pretty short with all of the questions my kids were asking. This time the staff were a lot better. The icecream cone is a decent size for the price. They have new flavors everywhere. The hazelnut and cookies and cream are great. You also can’t go wrong with a classic glaze. These are not gluten free. They don’t open up early and are not breakfast donuts but more like a dessert or snack items. The rice flour hot dogs look super interesting

First time trying this place. We ordered two different mochi corn dogs (see in the pic). It’s super delicious, churchy and flavorful. You can get the dipping sauce on the side inside of the store while you wait for your order. I would have given five stars if the hot dog itself wasn’t small. I would come back if the store have more hot dogs options and sizes. Also, when ordering the corn dog do Prepare for tons of mochi breading around the dog bun. Small shop. No place to lounge. You’ll be standing for 15mins while they fixed your order. Parking lot is big. It’s in an ok location, kinda far from me. For a new experience, I guess, it’s worth the try. I wouldn’t recommend every weekend.

This was my first time trying Mochinut. My niece and nephews wanted to try it. The donuts were very good . They had a lot of flavor. We got a 6 pack and the Cinnamon Toast Crunch was the best. We also tried, funnel cake, Oreo , Churro. Overall good service and donuts

It’s a place to try just to say you were there but the flavors were confusing and less is def more when it comes to the donuts. The Ubi and Peanut butter were a no-go. The Funnel and Tiramisu were probably the best. The actual donuts have an interesting texture but they could be slightly bigger for the price. It’s close to $10 for 3 donuts.

So we normally come here and it’s great but yesterday was a different story. I went in and ordered 2 mozzarella hot Cheetos, 3 mochi doughnuts and an ice cream . They told me it would be about 10 minutes which I was fine with knowing that we usually get good quality. Took my order to my car and my kids was disappointed!! I noticed it was SLOPPY and hot Cheetos was barely sticking to the corn dog and there was barely any Cheetos. So when I took it back and told the worker about it she responded with “ we put whatever Cheetos we could and it’s not sticking so I just told the other girl we can’t sell anymore” so I asked for a refund and she (shorter girl that was working)” was rude about it.

My whole thing is if the worker knew that it wasn’t good quality she could’ve just told me and refunded me instead of trying to serve something sloppy.

Consistency is key and serving quality over quantity matters!!

-10 stars if possible. Went there ordered a Thai tea (so nasty) I went back and asked if it was actually Thai tea because it tasted nothing like it. It tastes chalky so disgusting. She responded with an attitude yes, we use sugar and powder. I asked for a reimbursement and she refused to because I had already drank out of it.. hello how is one to try the drink if we don’t drink out of it. Their customer service is non existent. Their donuts are nothing out of this world a dozen for $30 they’re bland and overall not a good place. Save your time and money and don’t support this business.
