My fiance and I both had the downeast clam chowder and we were not disappointed. Fresh and delicious. We split a reuben and it was one of the best we have had yet. Mom bar tender and daughter server. Dynamic duo! They were both so nice and sociable. Made the whole experience amazing!! We will of course be back.

Monkey Bar is awesome! Kinda tucked away, but they have great pub fare. Service is great, and it’s just a great place. Not fancy, but works for people with kids or if you just want burgers or wings ( both top notch)!

If I could give a 10 star review, I would. My two best friends and I are vacationing from NY. We decided to eat lunch at the Monkey and are we ever glad that we did. Becky was the BEST! She was juggling the whole place by herself and never skipped a beat or lost her smile or sense of humor! Stop in and give it a try, the food was amazing, especially the Crab Dip, the Spinach salad and the grilled chicken sandwich. Thanks again Becky for the top notch experience.

This is another top spot that my family always eats at whenever we’re on vacation here. The wings are GIANT, probably the biggest wings I’ve ever seen, and they’re really good too, the buffalo wings are always my go to. The staff is amazing, always on top of things, and the atmosphere is great as well (love all the stuffed animal monkeys & apes all over the place!) really fun spot with amazing food!

Went for lunch had huge wings and a cup of seafood bisque. Wife had a BLT. Had some craft drinks which were very good. The food and service were fantastic. Only complaint is they don’t have a dedicated fryer for seafood limiting things like fries and wings for my wife to eat due to her allergies.

My 2 kids and I came in on a Thursday night because google menu said they had something both my kids would eat. We were not disappointed. The wings were great, mild sauce was my favorite! The server/bartender was great with the kids!

We ordered a hamburger and onion rings, patty melt and french fries. It took over a half hour to arrive at the table after placing the order and the waitress never once came to check to see if we’d like our drinks refilled. There were very few customers; they certainly weren’t slammed, just being slack.
The hamburger was overcooked and dry. A double cheeseburger should have melted cheese on each patty; on only one at this place. The grilled rye on the patty melt was really light on butter. Likewise, a skimpy topping of grilled onions. After the food was served the waitress never came to the table to see if everything was satisfactory… or to refill the drinks. We actually had to walk up to the bar to pay to check out. There are other places that would be better for you to go to dinner than here.

In town on vacation. It’s a cute place small and busy. The service was great. Food was wonderful. I ordered a 8oz cheeseburger with pepper jack cheese lettuce tomato mayo. It was thick juicy and taste just like it was off the backyard grill. The fries were crispy and flavorful. Would eat here again.

Monkey bar and grill in Atlantic Beach North Carolina is a wonderful restaurant and bar. The wings are absolutely delicious! We like the battered wings dipped in the mild sauce which is a little sweet. It’s our favorite. They have a great variety of food from steaks to sandwiches salads and oh by the way the Greek salad is delicious! All-around wonderful place to go. Good service!
