This restaurant is such a gem! The atmosphere is cozy and intimate and the service is genuinely warm and attentive. We went there to celebrate my birthday and they went the extra mile by surprising us with a small ice-cream “cake” and even taking a Polaroid photo for us, such a thoughtful act that made the night extra special.

The food was flawless. Though the menu isn’t large, every dish is clearly crafted with care and intention.
The sablefish was a standout. It melted in the mouth yet still held its structure beautifully without being soggy. Every vegetable on the plate was cooked perfectly, no filler or mediocre sides. All details are well executed.
Portions were very well calculated too, filling without being overwhelming.

We absolutely will come back.

This is quite an interesting French restaurant. The decor is simple and minimalist, and although the space isn’t large, it feels cozy. When we arrived, it was basically full—pretty nice. By the time I’m posting this, it’s been about a month and a half since my visit, so some dishes in the photos might differ from the current menu.

One thing I really like about this place is their menu setup: appetizers, mains, and desserts, with only three options in each category. Though choices are limited, the menu changes frequently, so regulars won’t get bored.

The complimentary bread was quite good—great texture and delicious butter. The appetizers were decent; the chowder stood out more than the escargot. As for the mains, whether it was the fish, lamb shank, or duck breast, each had unique side dishes and different styles of potatoes. The included salad was also a highlight—everyone at our table loved it.

Finally, the desserts: the crème brûlée, molten lava cake, and cheesecake were all delicious. Overall, we were very satisfied, and the restaurant’s price-to-quality ratio is quite reasonable. Definitely worth revisiting.

The lamb tasted a bit like liver, the dock was great. The rest were good enough.
Not sure if it overall was worth the price.

I was very impress , the food was top notch, the Dishes was prepared with perfection! We ordered the sable fish and duck breast and wow how good it was especially the duck breast, it was very juicy and tender. We order the 3 course meal with appetizers , main and dessert for around $65 and all 3 was delicious . I definitely will come back again!

Incredible quality food. Each dish was unique tasting. Someone mentioned the quality is equivalent to Michelin starred restaurants and I’d agree! I don’t know if they were understaffed (just one server), but don’t expect fast service here. As long as you’re okay taking your time with dining, then this is an absolutely fantastic spot to go to for any occasion! Looking forward to coming back again!

This restaurant never disappoints!
The food is superb, we keep coming back. The ambience is great, cozy, calm and intimate.
This is the first time however that service was a bit lacking, maybe they were short on staff or did not have enough time to train the waitress.
Overall, we would happily come back for more of their delicious refined cooking

I’d say the perfect 3-course menu for my liking is tuna sashimi, sablefish, and cheesecake. Top marks on presentation and portion size for each dish (: I don’t normally eat escargot or duck breast, but they tasted good. The seafood chowder and steak were delicious. Overall, 10/10 would come back again!

Wow. Why does this place make you want to take pics of everything from the tables, the salt and pepper shakers, the drinks, the food?? I took a bunch of pics only to come on here and see so many other pics and great comments. I have lived in the area for over 20 years, and finally made it to Absinthe for dinner this past week. My partner and I were invited by friends who wanted to express their gratitude for dog-sitting, so Absinthe wasn’t even my choice…regretfully.

Anyhow, this establishment was impressive from any angle!! Setting, ambience, lighting, furniture. Oh yes, and food and drink of course. Anyone who pays attention to details, everything on the eyes were a pure treat!

The food was incredible!! All of it!! The cocktail, the bread(!) and seasoned butter, the first course, the main course and the dessert. And the wine! OMG! I so highly recommend this place. And for all you get, the price point is very fair! Set limited menu of 2 courses for $58 and 3 courses for $65. Don’t skip their desserts!!

Incredible first experience…and on a Wednesday night!!

My gal pals and I had an amazing meal. They have a set menu “fixe prix” menu 2 or 3 course. I chose the crab cakes starter, duck confit main and chocolate cake. Michelin quality presentation, generous portions and amazing ingredients. I would highly recommend this restaurant for foodies. Had a taste of scallops, foods grois, halibut, creme brulee from my friends. All very delicious!
Friendly service, cute decor with absinthe vintage posters & chandelier patio seating.

I’ll be back for a special dinner. Thanks Absinthe!
