This place is honestly a late-night hidden gem, especially in the winter. They stay open until 11:30 PM all year, which is perfect when you get out of work late. That’s exactly why I end up coming here so often.
I’ve tried a lot of hibachi rice around the city, and Mulan easily has some of the best hibachi rice in town. With the yum yum sauce, it’s seriously an explosion of flavor. I always get the 3 meat platter (shrimp, chicken, and steak) and it never disappoints.
The place is always clean, the service is fast and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. Two people can eat here with drinks and even an appetizer for under $50, which is hard to find these days. I come here at least 4 times a month, even though I live in North Myrtle Beach.
The only thing I’d change is switching from plastic plates to real dishes — that would take the experience to the next level. Honestly, they should open one in North Myrtle Beach.

Sometimes we like to find a place that’s not publicized everywhere. We were in the mood for Chinese food after leaving Boardwalk. This place was about 5 minutes away. It looked like a typical Chinese takeout place. But there was lots of seating and clean. Food was really good and there was a huge selection. Staff were friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable for the amount you get. We were looking for entrees we would get if we came back. Lots of free parking and across from Walmart.

Food was perfect for me and the wife. She’s a big Pho fan and I’m a sushi fanatic. It was my first time eating at an authentic sushi restaurant and I will tell you one thing, they did not disappoint. My Alaska Roll was made to perfection with a touch of the freshest jalapenos. If there was a hidden gem in Myrtle Beach, Mulan Japanese Hibachi & Sushi is it. Highly recommended and we will be coming back again when we visit.

After getting a chicken and steak bowl for takeout and bringing it home my husband and I noticed the chicken and yum yum sauce is completely different. I ordered a steak bowl which taste a little different but still edible.
I called to ask if they switched recipes or management and was told nothing was changed recently. I am totally bummed because after calling the store I decided to read the reviews to see if anyone else noticed the changes and I’m not the only one who has been displeased with the quality of food.

HALF OF OUR FOOD WAS MISSING FROM OUR DOORDASH ORDER!!!! I PAID OVER $50 AND OUR FOOD IS NOT HERE AND ITS NOT EVEN THE RIGHT FOOD!!!! I CALLED THEM 13 TIMES AS SOON AS WE OPENED OUT FOOD AND THEY WOULD NOT ANSWER AND DECLINED THE CALLS!!!! THIS HAS BEEN A COMPLETE RIP OFF!!!

This place used to be amazing but lately it is terrible. The chicken is hard, it’s soaking in teriyaki sauce so you would think it would be soft but no sir it’s literally hard. I wanted some Sashimi so decided to give this place a try. Big mistake! Sashimi is supposed to be RAW cuts of fish, explain to me why I was given SMOKED SALMON!!! All the fish was bad! It tasted like store bought fish. Money wasted! I tasted each cut and ended up trashing it!! I would not recommend this restaurant! Poor quality! I give this place 1 Star! If you want some REAL SASHIMI this is NOT the place to get it!! Now I understand why they had NO CUSTOMERS INSIDE THE RESTAURANT!!
