This place is dirty, slow and not well managed. Out of Grilled chicken by 7:20 pm with 2.5 hrs to go before closing? 7 people working and only 2 people filling orders. Out of everything and the tea has 3 inches foam on top and the dispenser was extremely dirty, GROSS, matter of fact, none of the dispensers were running or working . Steak looked like dried up beef Jerky. Food sitting on the counter for 15 min or so, before even asking what you would like on it , now COLD. The counters were dirty and it seemed that the other 5 people either just standing around or they were more interested in fulfilling the online orders then helping the people standing in front of them, not to mention that the food just kept piling up on the counter and it was just sitting there. The staff were rude and unhappy. I would recommend to avoid this location and go to a different one. Management, and employees, needs to be retrained.
Update- once I got home with my food, the pico had rotten tomatoes in it, and the lettuce was soggy. It’s just a matter of time before the Health District comes in and they get fined or better yet, get shut down until they fix their issues.

I know this place has some bad reviews but after two years of living here and coming often- we are always happy. We do come in and order and watch the food made- but they are always generous with portions and the food is fresh. The service is great. And their app has amazing deals and a stellar rewards program! Thank you!

I’m not one to write reviews but we walked in and no one greeted us, it smelt terrible and everyone acted bothered we were even there. The guy taking our order barely spoke and acted bothered another girl behind him was giving dirty looks. Their tortillas looked like pancakes and I was overall not impressed. I’ve been going to cafe Rio since I can remember and never once at another location has my experience been this bad. Do better skye canyon

Ever since the recent menu redesign lately things have gone down hill.
The queso is usually thick and lumpy.
They got rid of the habanero sauce which was a favorite. It’s the only one I regularly saw them run out of when they still had it (because I would be disappointed).
The other sauces are just kind of disappointing, the “hot” has no real heat and tastes like tomato sauce.
Bring back habanero sauce.

This is my second TERRIBLE experience here- which I’m so sad because I love cafe Rio. First experience was a mobile order- an HOUR after the time it was supposed to be picked up. My kids were screaming in the car and it was terrible! That was 2 weeks ago- decided to give the drive thru a try. Currently sitting in the drive thru with 5 cars in front of me- line has not moved in 20 min- my kids are screaming- and there is no way for me to get out of this line. Warning- if you are wanting to wait 30 min- an hour to get your food then this is the place for you. Never coming to Skye canyon location again.

Everytime I come to this location, they are always out of stuff. My last visit we come in at 7pm and they told me they were out of steak for the rest of the night, and also out of guacamole for the rest of the night too. The location just seems like the employees don’t care.

Just left and I’ll drive across town before going back there. First the individual as you walk in prepping food you order seemed to think it was funny that they were out of simple things like black beans and steak. Next the girl at the second part of the line adding lettuce and salad was absolutely rude , when we asked for elote which was pretty much all grease) she didn’t ask what size nor did she fill the 8oz container up even halfway. Then when paying the cashier asked what size we got 4 oz or 8 oz, so we asked “employee who couldn’t be named” and she followed by 8 oz because that the size it comes in. I asked the cashier Brook (whose name is on the receipt) for the names of the employees and was told “I don’t know them” followed by her going to speak to someone named Ethan who then said that legally they can’t provide the names of employees. I should have known better than to go there as every time I’ve ordered through DoorDash it’s nearly screwed up every time and I can now see why. These employees are basically running this stores reputation to the ground and you can tell by looking at these reviews and their 1.5 star yelp rating!

This is the best location of Cafe Rio ever! It’s a quiet little restaurant that does a lot of business but the store stays pretty quiet. Great for conversations with a friend. The serving sizes are very generous at this location which a great plus! And their horchata and lemonades are always full. The staff are friendly, too. It’s always a great location to visit. I go out of my way to come to this location of Cafe Rio.

10/18/22 This was a return trip. We normally order online for pick up. This time We went inside to order for take out. Very nice and clean interior. Michelle at the order counter was excellent. She was very friendly, cheerful, helpful and patient. Everything looked fresh and delicious. There was a large selection of sides, sauces and condiments to add on to your entree. We selected the barbicoa nachos, shreded chicken taco and shredded beef taco with sides if rice and black beans. They were yummy.
We ordered online for pickup at restaurant. It was easy to select online and pay. You can select time of pickup. Our order was ready right on time. We picked it up in the restaurant. It was very neat and clean. Customer service was very friendly and helpful. They packaged the meal with care and provided utensils and napkins. The food was fresh and delicious. We liked the extras and add on selections. The Tuesfay taco is a bargain. Definitely will return.
