Such an amazing little bar! While it was a little different for us being in a hotel setting, we are glad that it was open to the public. It is such a comfortable/welcome area and the bartenders were awesome! They did a great job constantly checking on us to make sure we were doing okay on our drinks and asking what else we would like. We went right after a concert, so it was semi-busy but overall we had a great experience. I love the little lounging area as well!

You guys are a great hidden gem. Can I suggest a business idea? Give some kind of a discount or incentive to the capitol district apartment resident’s. There are a good amount of people that live there and plenty of people who like to have a drink. Whether it’s a straight discount or a discount on a certain night. Could be some built in weekly business for you guys.

I stayed at the Marriott in Omaha and discovered this wonderful restaurant/bar. The wait staff is professional, friendly and attentive. All of the food is fantastic. I recommend the Reuben, hamburger, brussel sprouts and lemon tart. My absolute favorite is the squash soup. They also have fantastic French press coffee. A bit pricey. I loved the classy decor and atmosphere.

I kept going back for more. I tried a little bit of everything and it was ALL delicious. The Rueben sandwich did not disappoint, the salad was a perfect balance of flavor & I never thought I’d love hummus so much. The proof is in the pictures

I was so impressed by both the food and drinks here. Five friends and I had a three course meal with cocktail pairing and it was delicious. The chef, John Engler, was previously of The Grey Plume, if that gives you an idea of the quality. This would be great spot for a date night downtown or an elevated dinner with a group, you just probably wouldn’t have guessed it as it’s the restaurant in the Marriott downtown.
The first course was a gin peach smash with foie gras torchon. Although I’m not usually a huge fan of gin, this is one of the most delicious cocktails I’ve had. Broker’s London Dry Gin, donut peach, lemon, peach nectar, and mountain mint from Squeaky Greens Organics. The foie gras was comprised of donut peach chutney, peach puree, black mint, and mint oil, served with toasted bread. Interestingly, the foie gras came from La Belle Farms in New York State, one of only the farms in the country that produces foie gras. This course was my favorite. I would come back and get this over and over again.
The second course was a cocktail that was a twist on an Old Fashioned with Old Overholt Rye, lemon juice, Angostura Bitters, and honey ginger syrup. The main course was pork loin from Truebridge Farms, with pork belly, carrot puree, honey glazed carrot, and collard greens. No one talked during this course, except to try to con someone else out of their pork belly bits. I would also come back for this.
After the first two amazing courses, I was comparatively disappointed by dessert. While the elevated White Russian (made with Caffe Moka, cream, Amaro angostura, and espresso) was good, the fruit tart was just greek yogurt and berries. It could have used some sort of glaze.
We finished the evening with Bochant orange liquor as a digestif, which rounded everything out nicely.

Great restaurant downtown Omaha in the Marriott Capitol District hotel, anyone can eat here, don’t have to be a guest, we stopped before a Creighton game and was it busy and poppin! The service was still great, everyone was working away but still taking care of everything in acceptable time frame. The food came out decently quick, hot, and all correct! It was a clean, nice looking and upkept place! Highly recommend for before a concert, game, or anything happening downtown!

I just want to Thank the staff of Burdock and Bitters for such great food and service. My Step Daughter who is a Vegan came home from Oregon for 5 days and we took her to eat at Burdock and Bitters. Upon arrival the Waitress was very respectful and kind. Upon hearing our request for my Step Daughters Vegan meal, she sent Trevor their remarkable Chef out to speak to us and without hesitation Trevor assured us that he would create something special for her. True and behold to his word, accompanied with Irfan the Director Of Food and Beverages he delivered a beautiful and delicious Cauliflower Smoked Steak dinner that my Step Daughter loved. Upon leaving my Step Daughter to me and her Mom, how Special it made her feel to have Trevor and Irfan personally deliver her meal and speak with her. Thank you Burdock and Bitters!!!
